Solidarity and history

On Saturday, March 24, thousands of people showed up at Seattle's Cal Anderson Park to protest gun violence with their feet and their creative, clever and heartbreaking signs. Gov. Jay Inslee spoke, Brandi Carlile sang. The march was one of hundreds across the nation, including D.C.'s event, which may have been the largest such event in U.S. history, and whose speakers included Parkland students, MLK's granddaughter and this incredible 11-year-old, who spoke about the impact of gun violence on Black women.

We asked readers to share their photos, signs and stories about Seattle's March for Our Lives. (Note: Submissions have been edited for length and clarity.)
