There's a "national day" for just about everything, right? Well, this one's pretty cute: National Hug Day. And what's more huggable than a teddy bear? May we suggest a Build-A-Bear stuffie purchased at a discount?
National Hug Day is this Sunday, Jan. 20, and on Sunday and Monday you can score a huggable deal from Build-A-Bear Workshop. Build-A-Bear is offering select Lil' Cub teddy bears for $5.50 on Sunday, Jan. 20 and Monday, Jan. 21.
A regular-price Build-A-Bear animal starts around $10–$12, though some are $25 or more. Then there are the many enticing add-ons your crew will undoubtedly want. So an opportunity to save a few dollars has appeal. Build-A-Bear veterans will warn newbies that it's hard to walk out of the shop having spent only $5.50, unless you want a bear in nothing but its birthday suit.
Build-A-Bear's "pay your age day" last July attracted huge crowds and left lots of folks disappointed. Be sure to pack your patience if you plan to go for the National Hug Day deal.
Find a Build-A-Bear Workshop locally at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, Southcenter in Tukwila, Tacoma Mall in Tacoma and Columbia Center in Kennewick. Workshops are open 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Sundays and typically 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Mondays, though you might want to call ahead and check if the MLK Day holiday Monday will affect regular hours.
