With four distinct seasons, anytime is Vernon time, but summer is especially good for swimming, boating and paddle boarding in Vernon's warm-water lakes. Include a stop at Davison Orchards for lunch, to pick up homemade baked bread or fresh produce. Be sure to spend some time on the play equipment, such as the pick-up truck buried in sand, and take a tractor tour through the fruit trees. For a fun learning experience, put Planet Bee on your travel agenda. Different tours delight and inform visitors, but the most popular is the “Opening of the Hive” at 1 p.m. every Saturday for the rest of the summer.

Another must-see, Camelot Haven is home to several Huacaya Alpacas, a couple of llamas and an array of exceptional products made from alpaca fleece. Top off your day with an afternoon at Atlantis Waterslides, where the water is warm, and the excitement is contagious.
