We all love free stuff, especially parents with a crew to feed. We're all over free doughnuts and free coffee on their respective days (and we once enjoyed free pizza), but this is new: free grilled cheese at Seattle restaurant Conscious Eatery on Friday, Dec. 8.

In celebration of its first year of business, Conscious Eatery plans to give away free grilled cheese sandwiches to customers on Friday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Join the one-year anniversary celebration and claim your one free grilled cheese per person. Watch the shop's Facebook page for menu updates.

Giving away food is not a new gig for Conscious Eatery. The restaurant and catering company in the Georgetown neighborhood calls itself "Seattle's philanthropic sandwich shop." Conscious Eatery takes the "buy one – give one" model made popular by products such as Toms and applies it to meals, donating a meal for every meal purchased. Since its founding last year, Conscious Eatery has tallied 6,013 meals donated, working with partner organizations such as Mary's Place, the White Center Food Bank and Roots Young Adult Shelter.
