2011 Golden Teddy Awards: How it Works

ParentMap’s 2011 Golden Teddy Awards contest recognizes the best businesses and resources in the greater Seattle area for kids, families and parents. Readers voted from June 14 to July 14, 2011 in more than 70 categories, representing eight main areas of interest in the greater Seattle area.
Readers were eligible to vote for each category up to once per day for the duration of the voting period. Winners were determined by the greatest number of legitimate votes. No special preference was given to advertisers or any business patronized by ParentMap. ParentMap reserved the right to disqualify from the competition any businesses or individuals who attempted to unfairly influence the outcome.
ParentMap also held the right to make final editorial decisions when we were unable to recognize a vote as a legitimate entry, in cases of multiple ties, or when a vote wasn’t appropriate for a category.
