pondturtleBeen meaning to head to Woodland Park Zoo this summer? Or do you fear the visiting-from-everywhere crowds? Whether you belong to Team Thinking About It or Team No Way, the zoo is offering a deal this week to entice non-members to head on over.

From the zoo's press release:

"To celebrate 20 years of collaborative efforts to restore the population of the native western pond turtle in Washington state, Governor Christine Gregoire has proclaimed the week of July 25 to be the “Western Pond Turtle Recovery Project 20-Year Anniversary.” Woodland Park Zoo invites the community to join in the celebration by extending $5 off zoo admission to all visitors from Mon. – Fri., July 25 – 29. For a family of four, that’s a savings of $20 to commemorate this 20-year anniversary celebration!"

So -- $5 off admission the week of July 25-29, in honor of the conservation of the ferociously cute Western pond turtle.
