Assumption-St. Bridget School is a vibrant, PreK-8th school located in the Bryant neighborhood in Northeast Seattle, celebrating our 70th year of inspiring young leaders. Sponsored by Assumption and St. Bridget parishes, we are proud to partner with our parents and parishes to provide excellent education in the Catholic tradition. In addition to strong academic skills, students develop the thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills that are essential for 21st-century learners.
At ASB, we strive to effectively teach the whole child. To do so, we view each child as a unique individual with particular learning strengths, needs, and preferences, as well as a powerful personal history. Our goal is to engage students and create life-long learners with a broad worldview and the skills and confidence to be leaders and role models of faith.
Our outstanding staff is committed to continually developing our understanding of the learning process. We have inspired, experienced teachers implementing in the classroom everyday, best educational practices based upon research, self-assessment, and experience. Our Student Success Team provides another layer of individualized support for students with diverse learning styles and challenges. Led by our full-time Counselor, Reading Specialist, Principal and Vice Principal, the Student Success Team works with teachers to support and track progress of students experiencing academic, social, or behavioral challenges. For all students, an ASB education provides the foundation for ethical thinking and self-direction, as it prepares students for productive lives beyond ASB.
ASB School has two classes of every grade for Kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as a half-day M-F PreK program. Each classroom in PreK-3 grade have full-time aides. Grades 4 & 5 each have a full-time aide, and grades 6-8 follow a traditional middle school model with students moving throughout the day to different classrooms and teachers. In addition to the core subjects of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and religion, students also have classes in music, drama, art, technology, physical education, and Spanish (grades 5-8). Our curriculum is aligned with academic standards set by the State of Washington and the Archdiocese of Seattle.
ASB also has a strong commitment to the arts. Students in all grades have music and drama classes, with many performance opportunities. Art Parents provide art enrichment in grades 1-5, and students in grades 6-8 attend art classes.
