I interviewed Kevin Emerson of Central Services this morning, who'll be playing a release party for the band's new CD for kids, Central Services presents...the Board of Education, on Nov. 15 at Town Hall Seattle. I'll be posting more about that next week, but in the meantime -- buy some tickets. I love the CD for its shameless use of big words and its laugh-out-loud funny, and I think it's probably going to be a great show (not really for tots, though -- it's more for kids in upper-elementary grades and beyond).

As for this weekend, I'll be succinct: there are two cultural festivals in Seattle, and a big one on the Eastside. There's a film festival in Olympia. A zoo career day in Tacoma, and life sciences learning at PacSci in Seattle.
