Old Town History Walks

Are you curious about Tacoma history? Do you want to learn more about Tacoma's early residents? Have you ever wondered about the buildings in the Old Town neighborhood?

There is one guided tour each month, May-Sept. Walks take place, rain or shine.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Tours last approximately 1 hour. Tours begin at Job Carr Cabin Museum unless otherwise noted.

Pick up a Kids Activity Book from the Cabin to enhance the walking tour for your family. Bring your completed booklet to the Museum for a free postcard!

2019 Summer Walks:

1. Immigrant Stories Walk - Saturday, July 27, 2019 - 10:30-11:30am

*Begins at Job Carr Cabin Museum, 2350 N 30th Street

Join us to uncover the stories of immigrants who found a home in Old Town Tacoma in the late 1800s and early 1900s.


2. Historic Homes and Architects Walk – Saturday, August 24, 2019 - 10:30-11:30am

*Begins at Job Carr Cabin Museum, 2350 N 30th Street

Explore the historic homes and architects of the Old Town Tacoma neighborhood, including landmarks on the local and national registers of historic places.

 

3. Women of Old Town Walk - Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 10:30-11:30am

*Begins at Job Carr Cabin Museum, 2350 N 30th Street

This tours shares the stories of Old Town's courageous and independent women, including pioneers, entrepreneurs, suffragists, and civic leaders.
