Storms, Stories, and Scribbles at Brightwater

Calendar/Event Details

Looking for fun ways for you and your children to stay creative during the rainy season? Come join IslandWood and King County to learn some new storytelling activities. We’ll begin the day by hearing a story about water from our resident story-teller. Then we’ll head outside to explore the aquatic ecosystems that Brightwater has worked to protect, and gain some inspiration to create our own stories of water. Make sure to bring your rainy-day gear because we will be going outside rain or shine. Back inside our classrooms, you and your child can let the ideas flow while writing comics, haikus, short stories, and trying out other storytelling games. You can even create your own custom journal. Everyone will leave with some new activities and materials to practice storytelling at home. This free event is intended for families with children aged 6 to 12.
