Explore the waters of Puget Sound and beyond with local scientists, discover aquatic life and ecosystems, dive into oceanography, and learn how we protect our vital water resources. Don’t miss our Saltwater Tide Pool to see and touch live Puget Sound animals.

Dive In will feature presentations and activities from local organizations such as NOAA, Puget Soundkeeper Alliance and Friends of the Waterfront. Activities include, but are not limited to:

·         Stream Tables: Explore erosion, sedimentation and deposition and how it affects an urban landscape

·         Water Quality: Learn about water quality and how scientists test the health of an aquatic ecosystem

·         Wild about Whales: Learn all about whales and hold real whale artifacts

·         Ocean Acidification: Learn about the carbon cycle and how ocean acidification affects both the smallest and largest creatures

In addition to the wide array of activities throughout the weekend, our Boeing IMAX® Theater will be showing advanced screenings of Amazon Adventure 3D at 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. both days. Witness the epic, true story of explorer Henry Bates' fascinating 11-year journey through the visually stunning and biodiverse Amazon rainforest as he risked his life for science in the 1850s. Amazon Adventure 3D will open on Friday, November 10, 2017.
