National Pollinator Week Celebration and Family Garden Day

Calendar/Event Details

Saturday, June 8th from 11am-3:30pm (special time this month only): National Pollinators Week Celebration in the Children’s Garden, and a “Bee-Friendly” Family Garden Class at 11am!

  • Family Garden Class: 11am-12noon
  • Family Garden Day: 12noon-2pm
  • Stewardship event: 12noon-3:30pm

From 11am-12noon, we will host our third Family Garden Class of the Year!  Master Gardener "Teacher Emily" Bishton will help kids and parents learn easy ways to identify native bees, honeybees, and other pollinators, the "Bee Safe" rules, and fun ways to attract pollinators to your garden.  Then we'll all go on a "bee hunt" together, have a "Snack Walk" in the Children's Garden P-Patch, plus make a nature craft to take home!

From 12noon-3:30pm, we will host our annual Seattle Works Day community stewardship event, with a variety of family-friendly activities to help sustain the garden!  We provide tools and gloves for kids and adults, and refreshments for all volunteers.

All Master Gardener and Seattle P-Patchers can count their hours towards their annual program requirements, and service-learning students are welcome too!

From 12noon-2pm, we'll host drop-in garden and nature activities for the whole family, such as exploring the worm bin, making nature art, building in the log pile, and more!

All ages and abilities are welcome, and no pre-registration is necessary.
