Read-A-Thon Summer Kick-off at Pierce County Libraries

Calendar/Event Details

The 2018 Summer Read-A-Thon will take place at all library locations in Pierce County on Saturday, June 23. Fun for all ages! Check each library location for the hours of the Read-A-Thon event, some last from 1–3 p.m. and some go all day.

Read or listen to as much as you can to support your local library branch. Record your total reading time at your branch before the Read-A-Thon ends!

For every hour read and recorded, the branch will earn one new picture book for children. Each new book will have a book plate indicating it was earned in the 2018 Read-A-Thon. The Pierce County Library Foundationprovided funds for books.

Locations will host story times, readers theater, and events for everyone. Check the events calendar for details and times.

Participants can start their summer reading by joining the Pierce County Library’s Read-a-thon. During the Read-a-Thon, adults and children may read, enjoy a story time, act in a readers’ theater, and have fun with other activities in their library. For every hour read, readers earn books for their library.
