Go Dog Go! (a play with music). Directed by Mimi Katano. Performed outdoors at Emmanuel Church Courtyard by actors in grades 4-12.
P.D. Eastman’s classic children’s book comes to life on stage through physical comedy, silly dances, music and great energy. The dogs delve into life with gusto, creating a visual spectacle for the audience to feast upon, making it feel as though they are all playing inside the story. They snorkel. They howl at the moon. They ride a ferris wheel. They sing and dance and drive cars. Just like the book, this play has the ability to generate fun, learning, adventure and surprise with a minimum of text. Go Dog Go! honors the joyous simplicity of the world around us and never stops from the moment it starts.
