  • Old Bellevue Strawberry Festival
The festival, founded originally in 1925, hearkens back to a time when strawberry fields were common around Bellevue. The fields were farmed mostly by farmers of Japanese descent, and the farmers' internment in 1942 during the WWII anti-Japanese hysteria led to the abrupt shutdown of the festival. The festival was revived in 1987 as a way of highlighting the Eastside's agricultural heritage, and today features fresh strawberry shortcake for sale, entertainment, a family area, historical and agricultural exhibits, and a Classic Auto show on Saturday. This year, it's part of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Festival. Crossroads Park, 16000 N.E. 10th St., Bellevue.
