  • Aki Matsuri
    The Eastside's large Japanese fall festival is the place to go for all things Japanese.Performing arts include taiko drumming, dance, puppet shows for kids, martial arts demonstrations, a screening of the anime movie Doraemon the Movie 2006: Nobita's Dinosaur (1:30 p.m. both days), crafts exhibits and demonstrations, and tea ceremonies. A family taiko workshop takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. ($20, ages 5-7 with parent) and a youth workshop ($17, ages 8-15) is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. Preregister for both workshops by Aug. 31.   • Lake-to-Lake Trail Walk
    Take a 15K walk along a beautiful urban greenway trail that connects open spaces, parks, wetlands, forests and neighborhoods between Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington. Register the morning of the event at the Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm, 2380 Bellevue Way S.E., Bellevue. Park in various sites at the Mercer Slough Nature Park, and look for signs and arrows. You'll take a shuttle from the blueberry farm to the start of the trail at Weowna Park.

  • Tiny Tots Skate
