“Oded” means to encourage or invigorate, and our highly acclaimed Counselor-in-Training and Leadership program is built to do just that. As part of a close-knit team, the Odedim live together in the Oded Village and spend a number of days on an extended outdoor adventure. The Oded program is truly a hands-on training program, as the participants plan programs, lead services, create an Oded Project, teach activities and share responsibility for a cabin of campers. Hidden Valley Camp is a traditional overnight summer camp for boys and girls. Activities include horseback riding, sailing, swimming, arts and crafts, canoeing, drama, archery, sports/games, hiking and much more. Carefully selected and trained staff work with small living groups (1:7 ratio) to help provide a safe, caring, friendly camp community. Hidden Valley Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a safe, fun and rewarding experience providing lifelong friendships and memories to campers since 1947.

Live at Dog Mountain Farm and experience farm life. Each day girls participate in care and feeding of animals, preparing garden beds and planting the fields, working in the greenhouse planting and harvesting produce, milking goats, and collecting eggs. Campers will learn basic culinary skills while preparing meals from farm-fresh products, including baking bread and making cheese. Additional topics may include poultry butchering, sheep shearing, soap making and others. Campers reside in a platform tent and sleep on cots. Meals will be prepared and served in our outdoor kitchen.

This camp is a fun-filled introduction to wilderness and community and the perfect adventure for the first-time camper or young mountain trekker. Under the guidance and encouragement of our experienced staff and elders, participants learn to cultivate a variety of interpersonal and wilderness skills, all in a challenging and supportive environment. Campers come away with resources that will aid them in their day to day lives as they approach the mysteries of adolescence.

A call to adventure beckons each of us toward an experience that extends beyond our level of comfort and current understanding. This backpacking program is a fun, exciting and significant first step on a Hero or Heroine's Journey. This camp begins with hiking along the mountain trails of beautiful Olympic National Park, where environmental stewardship is a focus of learning. Participants will also take part in wilderness cooking, trail safety and experience the joy of sleeping under the open sky. Under the guidance and encouragement of our experienced mentors, campers learn to cultivate a variety of interpersonal and wilderness skills, including leadership, responsibility and communication, in a challenging and supportive environment.

The North Cascades have drawn many great explorers. Be the next to explore this wonderland! Boys will start in the National Park and hike (with a backpack) down to Ross Lake, where they may see eagles and falcons, catch fish in the clear waters and share stories and marshmallows around the campfire. Summer science day camp held at multiple neighborhood locations throughout greater Seattle. Campers build cool robots, launch fast rockets, create fun 3D games, become science detectives, design rollercoasters and more. Each week-long theme is packed with over 20 unique learning stations. Become a paleontologist. Travel back through time as we uncover the mysteries left behind by dinosaurs. Campers study these magnificent prehistoric beasts, dig for dinosaur bones and create their own dinosaur fossils.

Get down and dirty this summer with our Fish Biology experience where campers learn about all things fishy. We will spend some time at EPS learning about fish biology (including doing dissections) and at the University of Washington Fish Collection looking at cool specimens. We will visit the Seattle Aquarium and even head out to the Sound to check out tide pool aquatic life and spend time with real biologists working in the field!

Lakeside Summer School offers Middle School Academic Camps for students entering grades 5 - 8. Campers spend their days actively engaged: two classes each day in a wide variety of areas will engage their brains and expand their curiosity. Class choices range from Farm to Market cooking and Recycled Sculpture, to Web Design, Dancing with the Stars, and Crime Scene Investigation. High in the Cascade Mountains is a land of clear mountain lakes full of fish, meadows filled with wildflowers, and snow-capped peaks called North Cascades National Park. Boys attending this camp will have the park as their classroom as they learn the basics of backpacking and fishing. Camp Wahoo! is a horse-riding camp in the Cascades mountains near Cle Elum. Campers are matched with a horse for the week and ride every day. Campers learn and practice horse skills including grooming, saddling and reining, plus campers take an overnight pack trip. More experienced riders are introduced to traditional mule packing techniques. Non competitive sharing environment where kids learn to live in harmony with nature.

We'll learn lots of facts about the ocean and ocean life as we take an imaginary trip under the sea. Using instruments we've made, we'll create an aquatic orchestra and compose songs about the ocean, as well as investigate the science of how sound works underwater. Other activities include crafts, games, and dancing like a school of fish swimming through a coral reef. (No Camp July 4.)
