EMP I SFM - Rock Band Teen Artist Camp

This Spring break camp is for those who want to rock! Rehearse cover songs with your band, work with your peers to create your own original works, and learn what it takes to be a part of a successful band. Your instructor will help you expand your musical repertoire, strengthen your skills on your instrument, and encourage you to try out a few new ones as well. Camp culminate with a live rock concert in JBL Theater on Fri. At least 6 months experience on your instrument is recommended for this workshop. Early bird rates and scholarships available.

Capital Playhouse - Tykes

Start 'em young! Tykes is a summer program that is the precursor to and begins simultaneously with KIDS AT PLAY. Tykes provides younger students with the opportunity to learn theatre skills as a team, as well as the chance to show it all off on stage with a performance at the end of the four-week rehearsal period.
Club Z! music instructors provide children of all skill levels (beginner through advanced) private, personalized instruction, right in the home of their student. Tutoring is available in instruments such as piano, guitar, wind, string and percussion instruments as well as voice lessons.

ArtsWest - Musical Theater Academy "Seussical, Jr."

The ArtsWest Musical Theater Academy is for campers who are serious about spending their summer with like-minded students to learn about the world of musical theater. Class work is the focus in the ArtsWest program, with daily classes in dance technique, music theory, improvisation and acting taught by professional actors. Homework will be given frequently. The conclusion of the ArtsWest Musical Theater Academy puts the students and their new skills center stage in 6 public performances of "Seussical Jr." based on the famous stories by Dr. Seuss. A parent promissory note outlining all of the expectations of the student and their families must be signed at the beginning of The Musical Theater Academy. Signups begin February 22, 2010.

Music Works Northwest - Brass Camp

This camp for brass lovers will amaze and delight both participants and parents. Ryan Schultz, Principal Tuba from the PNB Orchestra and other MWNW Brass faculty will work with students at picking musical selections that will push players to perform at high levels in a variety of small and large brass ensembles. In addition, they will learn about important and fun ways to practice, to improve their ear and to increase endurance. This camp is open to Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, French horn and Tuba. Days include warm-ups, breathing techniques, performance etiquette, ensemble performances and more. A culminating performance will take place on Sat., Jul. 10, 2 p.m.
