Under the direction of Sam Vance, campers develop their physical theater skills in this unique partnership between SPT and Teatro ZinZanni. Classic clowning, circus skills, mime, lazzi and character development--all these skills are great tools whether kids are beginners or seasoned actors. Students practice flexibility and specificity, deepen their craft, and have fun working in an ensemble. Plus, they’ll get a few master classes from world-famous professional circus performers. The week culminates in sharing for family and friends (11 a.m. Friday) full of laughing, gasping, and applauding.

Under the stage direction of SPT Artistic Associate Kelly Kitchens and the music direction of Seattle Opera Youth Program Director Barbara Lynne Jamison, campers dive into Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld. This camp continues SPT's successful and growing relationship with Seattle Opera. Technical Internships and Teaching Assistant positions available for grades 9-12; get service learning hours while having fun, giving back to your community, and gaining valuable life and leadership skills. Join Olympia Family Theater for a great camp rehearsing and performing a short comedy play in one week's time. "Law and Order: Fairy Tale Unit" is a fun spoof on the T.V. show that turns fairy tales on their heads. Performance for family and friends at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Discovery Days! From A to Zolo is a day camp program where each day features new and engaging activities including playing in our 22,000 square-foot exhibit space along with Seattle Center Campus Adventures. Activities might include neighborhood field trips around Seattle Center, to KCTS, or to Metropolitan Market. Inside activities include visits from friends such as pizza dough tossers, scientists, artists or others. Discovery Days’ flexible design allows parents to plan based on their individual summer needs. Campers can attend just one day, every Wednesday, just mornings, a whole week or the whole summer. Summer at Youth Theatre Northwest is a child’s opportunity to shine! Extensive summer camps ignite creativity as children sing, dance and perform through the summer. On stage or in the classroom, young artists explore the thrill of live performance and expand the boundaries of their creativity and imagination. Flexible schedule allows for registration for one week of classes or a full three-week series.

Find a little bit of France in the San Juan Islands at one of the country’s premier French camps. Campers take part in a unique mix of French language and culture through artistic and outdoor activities. In addition to language experience, campers gain increased independence, self-awareness, new friends, and the ability to enjoy new experiences and food. Tipi-mates are arranged by age, French language class by ability, and the campers choose morning and afternoon activities themselves, including kayaking, sailing, swimming, art, archery, theater, sports, rock climbing, snorkeling, orienteering and cooking. Join the circus for lots of fun, musical activities. We'll learn circus music on various instruments, explore physical comedy while clowning around to silly songs, get exercise creating an acrobatic obstacle course, and work on creative costume designs. All the activities will focus on collaborating and preparing for a big show on the final day of class.

We'll learn lots of facts about the ocean and ocean life as we take an imaginary trip under the sea. Using instruments we've made, we'll create an aquatic orchestra and compose songs about the ocean, as well as investigate the science of how sound works underwater. Other activities include crafts, games, and dancing like a school of fish swimming through a coral reef. (No Camp July 4.)

This two-week camp is for youth who want to write, storyboard, direct and produce their own movie. Here is the chance. During the first week, campers learn how to write a screen play, including storyboarding and scouting out camera shots, and ultimately, produce a completed original script for a short film. During the second week, campers produce that film and if desired, submit it to a student short film contest. Campers may participant in only one of the weeks as desired, just writing or helping others make their movie.

A fun filled high-energy drama class designed to foster creativity. We'll learn theater games, act out familiar stories and create our own. The perfect camp for those who love to pretend!
