Brain Rules for Parents

Dr. medina How much easier it would be if children were born with operating instructions. Dr. John Medina’s investigations suggest that they are. Through masterful and memorable story-telling, Dr. Medina guides us through the latest research that is finding there are 12 essential brain rules in the healthy development of children that every parent needs to know.

Dr. John J. Medina is a developmental molecular biologist, research consultant, and author.  His latest book, the 2008 New York Times Bestseller, Brain Rules, 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School, provocatively challenges the current structures of our learning, working, and living environments. Dr. Medina holds faculty appointments at the University of Washington and at Seattle Pacific University.  (www.brainrules.net )

The event is a fund-raiser for Kids Co., an area nonprofit providing quality childcare at seven centers in Seattle and on Mercer Island (www.kidscompany.org)
