President Bush vetoes SCHIP: Tell lawmakers to protect children's health! |

This morning President Bush vetoed legislation to expand health insurance for children. The plan, known as SCHIP (the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan) would increase coverage for children by $35 billion over the next five years, and double the number of children in our country that have healthcare coverage. Both the Senate and House voted in support of the plan, but there does not appear to be enough votes in the House to override the veto.
