Seattle Humane Society was founded in 1897 and is a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization. We are proud to serve the people and animals of our region with a variety of programs including adoptions, veterinary services, dog training classes, a pet food bank, and humane education for children of all ages. Through our outreach, advocacy, and services, we strive to ensure that animal companionship is accessible to all. Seattle Humane Society receives no local, state or federal support.

Special programs

Affordable spay and neuter for pets of low-income individuals and families. Seattle Humane's Pet Food Bank feeds more than 1,700 pets every month belonging to low-income senior citizens, and individuals disabled by HIV/AIDS. This program helps these people keep and care for their pets. Animal Adventures Day Camp for children 7-12 years of age. Week-long camp sessions teaching children about animal care and companionship. A variety of dog training classes from puppy manners to advanced agility courses are offered to the public.
