SDS Drum Camp is open to drummers of all skill levels who want beat themselves into a fury of rhythmic bliss and group consciousness!!! Students will learn the fundamentals of technique and time while exploring the magic of self expression through layers of rhythmic creation and improvisation. The camp will culminate in an ensemble performance in the L.A.B. @ 1pm on Friday. Dancing is encouraged!

Scientists have known that most dinosaur species went extinct about 65 million years ago in the Cretaceous era, but did all of the large dinosaurs disappear? Like the coelacanth, perhaps a megasaur lived much longer than previously thought. The possibility remains that a species of large dinosaur lived into the Miocene era, 20 million years ago, but no evidence has been found to date. Join our expedition team as we search the Puget Sound region in an effort to be the first to discover rare megasaur fossils. Do you have a sharp eye, good puzzle solving skills and a curious mind? Then you are the perfect fit for our exploration team! Join your fellow fossil hunters as we attempt to make history by: - Identifying signs of animal activity - Understanding how fossils are made - Making your own fossil - Learning how to uncover artifacts safely - Taking a journey through geologic time!

Come join us in the fairy ring! This four-day camp is inspired by flowers and fairies from classical ballets and nature. Each day is split equally between dance and art. Culminates in an informal performance and gallery of student artwork.

Designed around a fictional crime scenario at the Seattle Science Foundation, this STEM-focused camp bridges the summer gap for middle school students. Experienced instructors use video, activities and hands-on labs to teach the techniques associated with Crime Scene Investigation, forensic anthropology, fingerprint analysis, hair analysis, serology and DNA fingerprinting. Scientific data, coupled with critical thinking skills (and a few suspect interrogations) are used to solve the crime.

Students are immersed in a French-speaking environment using diversified activities (games, crafts, music, TPR story telling, baking, building an Eiffel Tower) and more!

The Tempest: Magicians, spirits, and fools converge on an isolated island to wreak havoc and love in a playful frolic for all ages. Join GreenStage in this special opportunity for enrichment and fun this summer. In our one week camps, kids will rehearse and perform an abbreviated version of one of Shakespeare’s plays. Everyone gets a role! Audition and resume tips will be covered and head shots (actor photos) will be taken by a professional photographer. Friday rehearsal goes until 3 pm with the performance starting at 3 pm sharp. Costumes are provided. All you need to provide is a sack lunch and drink daily. Camps are directed by GreenStage teaching staff.

The Handwriting Heroes Club is a tutoring service that addresses challenges with pre-writing, printing and handwriting skills. Our focus is to help your child develop age appropriate handwriting skills using a series of fun and effective activities within a positive group setting. What makes our tutoring service unique is that as occupational therapists in the school system, we are experienced at using a multi-sensory and fun approach to maximize your child’s potential. Our research based techniques turn tears and frustration into confidence and success. We are here to help your child succeed and progress in their writing ability ensuring that they are given the “just right challenge”. Curriculum We use the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for both pre-school and printing. This program was designed by an occupational therapist and uses a multi-sensory approach. You’ll dip for bugs in our ponds, catch frogs in Sapsucker Creek, and search for snails and snakes in the meadow. Each day will be filled with exploration, activities, games, and art perfectly suited for the budding naturalist.

Explore the world of water through activities, exploration, art, games, and stories all week at Brightwater Center. You will discover how to track a river otter, search for red-legged frogs, catch crayfish, and build a beaver dam. Each day you’ll explore our creeks, ponds, and wetlands that are teeming with plants and wildlife and play games, conduct experiments, and have a great time learning about what makes our aquatic environment so special.

This half-day camp for little ones aims to be a perfect fit for parents and campers. Each week has a creative and educational theme that includes activities, games, arts, crafts, songs and more! Campers must be potty trained.

CMA’s Jazz Camp offers music students the opportunity to spend a week playing with a jazz combo. Professional jazz musicians and educators will coach the groups. Campers can register individually or as a pre-formed combo. Each student will get personal attention on their instrument as well as feedback on what their role is with a jazz combo. There will be sessions on improvisation for students interested in soloing. Rhythm section players will be able to explore voicings, bass lines and different types of time feels associated with jazz. There will be listening examples as well as performances by faculty to demonstrate the key points discussed for each ensemble. This camp will be “hands on.” We work in small groups so each student can build the confidence needed to play jazz. Each combo will record a Youtube video performance at the end of the week. After visiting the sights of New Delhi and a tour of the renowned Taj Mahal in Agra, our tour departs for Leh, the capital of Ladakh in the Himalayas. After acclimatizing and enjoying the Tibetan handicraft markets in Leh at the crossroads of ancient trading routes, your family will be transported to Stok, a quaint village nestled in the Himalayan foothills. For the next six days in Stok, you will have the opportunity to live and work with your Ladakhi host family and to participate in a community service project with the Amale Society, a group of dedicated women from the village of Stok who initiate and implement social, cultural and environmental events. During the home-stay part of our tour, you and your family will become immersed in the Ladakhi communal culture and gain a deep understanding of the Buddhist culture and traditions of this stunning region.
