Come join Seattle's Littlest Performers for a fun-filled summer of singing, dancing and drama! A young girl will wander into a magical forest and be taken to fairytale land where she offers aid to a princess, knight and dragon all trying to find their place in this world. The young girl is skilled in martial arts, and teaches the princess how to take care of herself. She also encourages the knights to befriend the dragons as their trusty companions.

LIGHTS! MUSIC! ART! This week at OmCulture Summer Skills Camp your child will be exploring the intersection of creation and technology as a part of the DIY/Open Source culture. Our Artist in Residence will bring in various technological instruments/toys/techniques for kids to explore and play with. The week will be spent working in groups, interacting with each other and with lights, video, and creative input devices that allow them to control, inspire and design their surroundings. The last day will culminate with a performance-art-lecture by the students, letting them communicate their creations, and interact with the audience as they lead them through the interactive displays.

What would a superhero do? Students will learn the art of developing a storyline and putting together the elements of a comic book: panels, balloons, and pointers. They will complete their project by making a book to house their story. Each camper will have a finished book at the end of the week.

Our last camp of the summer is designed for Juniors ages 11-16 who have had several months of foil instruction either at Rain City Fencing, or at other clubs. It assumes a familiarity with the electrical scoring apparatus, and with bouting. We will focus on various tournament formats, reffing, trouble shooting the equipment, and tactics and strategy. We will be fencing all electric, all week!

Seattle Drum School Rock Band Camp is an amazing experience for young musicians of any skill level! It's their chance to unlock their creative potential, acquire rehearsal skills, and learn cooperation and teamwork. The band members will work with a full time coach who will encourage them to build their own sound and even to compose their own songs if they're interested! The final performance, the Friday of camp @ 1pm in the L.A.B., is not to be missed by family, friends, neighbors, anyone who loves to see the unbelievable results of five days of collaboration and magic.

Ropeworks’ jump rope camps are directed and run by World Jump Rope Champion and Cirque Du Soleil Artist Rene Bibaud. Boys and girls of all skill levels are invited to participate in our jump rope camps, which teach kids the following disciplines: single rope skills, partner routines, double Dutch, jumping long rope skills, group game choreography and more. Kids work together in a fun and rewarding environment of goal setting, best effort and team building. Play games, learn skills, develop new skills and stay fit in our fun-filled high energy program that really gets kids jumping! Camp culminates with a performance for friends and family.

Each week of camp the children work on developing their basic skills: somersaults, cartwheels, bridges, pivot turns, jumps, leaps, and much more. We will also be learning new skills with the Rhythmic gymnastics apparatus: jump rope, ball, hula hoop, and ribbon. Then all of these skills will be beautifully choreographed with music and dance to showcase at the end of the week.

Our Advanced Day Camps is intended for participants in the Tashunka Lesson program or receive approval. In this camp, each participant has his or her own horse for the week, and campers take part in all aspects of owning a horse, including feeding, picking stalls and paddock areas, graining, grooming, vet care, riding, horse economics, field trips, and much much more.

Gildenfire Dance offers this camp, perfect for children who love to dance, perform and create! Students will get technique class daily, play creative games and hone thier skills in hula-hooping and basic acrobatics. They will sew and create improvised costumes and props, create a dance to share, paint scenery, design a program and have a performance for friends and family on Friday! This camp is for elementary school students and will take place at our studio. Fee includes a new leotard.

Wilderness Awareness School has partnered together with Oxbow Farm, and we are serving up something very special this summer! During this week of daily adventures your child will explore the edge where Farm and Forest meet. In addition to Wilderness Awareness School’s unique day camp experience learning about plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills…we’re down on the farm! Kids will make their own sun tea, fresh fruit popsicles, and farm burritos. They will dig roots and pick fruits, save, sow, and snack on seeds. On the final day, we will harvest produce for an end-of-week Happy Camper Farmers Market! Each day we enjoy storytelling under the Maple Tree, as well as songs, crafts, and play surrounding food, farm and forest life. Camp is held at Oxbow Farm in the Snoqualmie Valley (about 15 minutes from Redmond). It is on a 120-acre property, with 20 acres of certified organic vegetables, berries and tree fruit in cultivation for the fresh market.

It’s official, Hip Hop is sick! This camp will show participants why Hip Hop is "k"ontagious as you move and groove to old-school and current beats in a fun-filled, energetic and supportive environment. This camp provides a structured method of various Hip Hop dance movements and styles that offers a new set of combinations and routines every time. Individual and group participation allows participants to build strength, flexibility and confidence.

Art projects include melted crayon art, tie dye t-shirt, paper mache critter, sun-sensitive paper design, and painted paper owl, mermaid or seascape. Summer comes and goes each year but fashionable wardrobe stapes are forever. In this class the kids learn sewing basics, using patterns and finishing techniques while creating a maxi dress, wrap skirt and cinch purse. Just what every fashionable girl needs in her wardrobe! Please note: This class is for kids who already have a firm understanding of the sewing machine. A materials list will be emailed to you closer to the class date.

This five-night camp is devoted to developing the keen awareness demonstrated by the ancient ”scouts” of many cultures. These were the people who knew the landscape and everything that was happening on it in order to keep their people safe and healthy in the face of the challenges of living from the land. Often remaining invisible, their abilities seemed like magic. Through adventures with camouflage, bird language (the alarm system of the forest), wildlife and human tracking, stealthy movement, and wild edible plants, we begin to enter the world of the scout. Participants in this camp held on our school campus near Duvall will likely never see nature the same way again! Scout Overnight Camp begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form by June 1. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. Completion of this form will require a physical exam completed within one year of the course date, and an appointment with that physician for the form to be filled out. Have fun creating two arts and crafts projects per day while exploring many mediums including: tempera, acrylic, watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, charcoal, ink and more. Explore collage, clay, printmaking, painting, drawing, decoupage, crafts and recycled art! Between art classes, have fun playing with the bunnies, cats, chickens, duck and goose, piggies and goats! And, in between camp games, there is always time to have fun on the trampoline or in the pool with friends. The Tempest: Magicians, spirits, and fools converge on an isolated island to wreak havoc and love in a playful frolic for all ages. Join GreenStage in this special opportunity for enrichment and fun this summer. In our one week camps, kids will rehearse and perform an abbreviated version of one of Shakespeare’s plays. Everyone gets a role! Audition and resume tips will be covered and head shots (actor photos) will be taken by a professional photographer. Friday rehearsal goes until 3 pm with the performance starting at 3 pm sharp. Costumes are provided. All you need to provide is a sack lunch and drink daily. Camps are directed by GreenStage teaching staff.

Design Thinking Camp at Lake Washington Girls Middle School uses academic and artistic concepts side by side, to create a stimulating, project-based curriculum. Spend a week learning about concepts such as symmetry, balance, and form that are found naturally in both art and math. Use different art materials and mediums to reinforce these concepts with building and sculpture! At LWGMS we use "design thinking" strategies, such as prototyping, data analysis, and creative problem-solving to create artistic and engineering masterpieces. STEAM Camp is an exciting and hands-on learning opportunity for young people with a special emphasis on the STEAM curriculum areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). As educators, we must provide educational opportunities that endeavor to integrate the arts, sciences, and technology for this to happen. LWGMS already embraces this educational model, and is currently in the process of developing curriculum for our students that is cutting edge, and that integrates the arts into the STEM model: STEAM. STEAM design classes incorporate problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, presentation, prototyping, and response to critique (resilience). Do you know a fashionista designer full of ideas and looking for a place to use them? Send them to Made to learn the fundamentals of fashion design, color, sewing techniques, and fashion illustration. We will work with the designers to create a clothing line based on a central theme of their preference, and then they will sew one of their designs to take home. This is a 3 day camp.
