At our new Art of Nature Day Camp, participants will dive into a hands-on relationship with the world around them, working with materials and inspiration from nature to produce a varied items of creative expression! During this week of camp, your child will create some art to bring home as well as having the opportunity to experiment with site-specific sculpture and land art. This camp is ideal for those who have previously participated in our Nature Adventure Day Camps, but there are no prerequisites! Campers will work on a variety of art projects throughout the week; some projects will utilize materials from nature in the creation of art, such as natural plant dyes and tree-bark boxes, while other projects such as drawing or writing will be opportunities for expression of what participants see and experience in nature. This camp will include a variety of creative projects to choose from, activities designed to stimulate inspiration and basic instruction on some artistic principles, as well as new games and stories (along with some old favorites). Neither your standard art camp, nor the nature camp that you have done before – this is not merely a combination of the two, but a whole new experience that will bring out the beauty of both!

This camp focuses on using our senses to the fullest, as did the ancient “scouts” of many cultures who were able to travel for days without supplies. We will gain greater knowledge of edible plants as food and medicine; tracking as a means of gathering details of animals’ lives without ever seeing them; and “bird language” to allow us to move silently and become more aware of predators.

Youth Venture Summer Camp will bring out the inner entrepreneur in your young person. During the week long camp, students learn about leadership, entrepreneurship and social justice issues, and then create their unique business approach to solve their chosen issue. Youth Venture will provide seed funding to the top teams up to $1000. Experienced staff support participants in creating a business plan, presenting a 5 minute culminating pitch, leadership skills and public speaking skills. Young people have the opportunity to team up with other participants to create a venture.

Puppet Palooza is a week of hands on exploration of a variety of puppet styles (sock, rod, hand/rod and shadow). Students will learn movement, focus, breath, personality and more. Recycled materials and found objects will become Junk Puppet characters. Students will create stories, rehearse, and perform. (Campers younger than age 7 may attend with an adult.)

Do you know a fashionista designer full of ideas and looking for a place to use them? Send them to Made to learn the fundamentals of fashion design, color, sewing techniques, and fashion illustration. We will work with the designers to create a clothing line based on a central theme of their preference, and then they will sew one of their designs to take home. This is a 3 day camp.

Ekone Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind camp program on 1060 acres of canyonlands, forests and meadows near the Columbia Gorge. Our residential, co-ed camp program features small groups of no more than 20 children per session and a 6:1 camper/staff ratio or better. Horse camp sessions emphasize the special relationship between children and horses. Campers spend many hours each day with our wonderful horses, grooming, learning groundwork, practicing in the arena, and going on long trail rides through spectacular country. We ride bareback and western. When not with the horses, campers are engaged in a variety of art projects, nature explorations, swimming, ranch activities and chores. Our garden-fresh, from-scratch food is a highlight of the camp experience (many a camper has learned to love their vegetables in the Yummy Tummy Cafe). The All-Level Horse Camp sessions have a maximum group size of 24 and a minimum staff:camper ratio of 1:5.  This is one of our co-ed sessions.

A call to adventure beckons each of us toward an experience that extends beyond our level of comfort and current understanding. This backpacking program is a fun, exciting and significant first step on the Hero(ine)'s Journey. Under the guidance and encouragement of our experienced mentors, participants learn to cultivate a variety of interpersonal and wilderness skills in a challenging, yet supportive environment. Leadership, responsibility, communication --- these are just some of the skills that are called forth and developed to bring a sense of community into practical tasks, in the sharing circles around the fire, and in the fun and joy of playing together. This camp adds to the skills and experience of our Survival Overnight Camp, and offers an in-depth first experience for older teens who have not participated in programs with us previously. We offer in this camp many opportunities to practice safe knife use, fire-making, primitive cooking, bullfrog hunting, basket-making and a variety of other skills, taking all of them to an advanced level that is appropriate to participants' age and experience. The village feel of this camp is notable, and participants of this camp connect with each other deeply through profound shared experience. Of the five nights, three will be spent in a natural shelter “village” created by the participants, where all will prepare food together and sleep in individual or group shelters. The Advanced Survival Overnight is a camp on our school campus near Duvall for participants who are socially mature and seriously interested in expanding their knowledge and skills of wilderness survival and community building. We will not only be surviving, but thriving together as we experience the gifts that each person brings to community, and that the natural world offers to us all. Overnight Camp begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday. All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form by June 1. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. This five night camp is focused on learning wilderness survival skills basics while practicing them daily at our school campus near Duvall. Campers will have opportunities to practice fire making, knife safety and carving, shelter construction and primitive cooking. They may choose to create their own fire kit, spoon, bowl or other similar craft to take home. Participants will also have the opportunity to sleep in shelters they have constructed from natural materials. They are sure to bring home amazing stories from this week with us! At this camp, each camper will have a whole chicken to de-bone. This chicken will be used to create a family meal that will be sent home at the end of the week. We will use every part of the chicken, making chicken sausage, wings for lunch, chicken breast parmesan for the take home dinner. The meal taken home on Friday will include: Chicken sausage bruschetta, local organic salad, Pappardelle pasta with tomato sauce, Chicken Parmesan, and fresh mini fruit pies.

This camp encompasses favorites that are typically inexpensive, uncomplicated, and easy to prepare. In addition to a brief sojourn into ethnic foods, this camp will focus on practical meals and homemade favorites. These dishes are particularly good for young people when they need to keep costs down. Your young chef will rub elbows with many professional chefs all week long becoming competent and proficient in the kitchen by actually practicing hands-on culinary skills with them for five hours a day! At the BYSO Summer Music Institute you will work with master specialists in chamber ensembles and full orchestra. Spend the week attending master classes and perform in a final concert. You will also participate in workshops specializing in rhythm, conducting, handbells, or sightreading.

Camp Sparkle is for any child or teen who is impacted by cancer. The camper may have a cancer diagnosis themselves, have a parent or sibling with a cancer diagnosis, or have lost a loved one to cancer. We offer emotional support and fun field trips each day. The Vera Project Building is where we have sound recording rooms, a full stage and concert area, a separate gaming computer lab area, an Art Gallery for displaying our work and a very hip lounge.

We'll take advantage of our beautiful landmark location under the Space Needle enjoying the grass, fountains, and great open areas when collecting video footage or photos to use in projects and for recreation periods.

Campers also have the opportunity to visit local companies to see how their creative teams and developers really work.

Camp TechWise offers instruction in a variety of areas, including:  Photography / Video (short-film): Students will research, script, storyboard, shoot and edit a complete video short film. Game Creation: Students use game authoring software to build a multi-level computer game. Music / Sound / Video Editing: combine video with sound editing (what is called Multi-Track production) and mix in a heavy dose of singing. Programming: Intro to Programming. It’s not easy and you will be learning… but it is cool and the results are totally worth it! Digital Photography Workshop: Students select, shoot, manipulate, and present a portfolio & gallery. Website Workshop: Our course covers HTML and PHP, Style Sheets and skins (including the popular WordPress, Drupal and Joombla open source themes). Engineering and Robotics Workshop: put on an “engineering hat” and design, build, solve and innovate their own creations. Linux: Install a Linux-based operating system. Scientific Thinking Workshop: Students learn about topics and careers in scientific fields and perform hand-on experiments and discoveries. Machinima: make funny videos using the 3D animated characters from video games.

From the electronically controlled airships of the late 1800s to more modern drones like the DarkStar, the development of pilotless aircraft has advanced in leaps and bounds! This week campers will explore all of the various technologies that make these remarkable machines possible.

For dancers with som experience, this program provides four weeks of comprehensive, pre-professional training in multiple dance styles with the emphasis on classical ballet based on Vaganova method from Russian Ballet Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia. Two-week & One-week sessions are also available ($495-$795). Curriculum includes: Ballet, Pointe, Men's Class, Pas De Deux/Contemporary, Variations, Character, Jazz/Theatre Dance, Modern, Choreography, Mime, Mat/Stretch, History of Dance and Nutrition/Injury Prevention.  The end of each session culminates with informal performance for family and friends. An audition is required for this program, on Saturday, April 27, 2013, or by appointment, with a $25 audition fee.

You’ve been hired as one of the new employees of the Brightwater Nature Detectives Agency. Your mission is to work each day with your fellow detectives to solve the nature mystery posed to you by your instructor through experiments, games, exploration, and art. By the end of the week – if you’ve done the job well – you and your team will be officially certified Sr. Nature Detectives, ready to tackle all of the mysteries of the world around us. Along the way you’ll no doubt have an amazing time and make new friends, whether they’re human, frog, snake, or beaver.

Want to play with dyeing fabric, but don’t want to get in trouble for “re-coloring” your kitchen or bathroom sinks in the process? Well, we have a dye room right here at Made that’s ready and waiting for you! Over the two-day Camp, we will teach you a multitude of dyeing techniques. At the end of Camp, you will have tons of beautifully dyed fabric to use at home in your sewing experiments.

This exciting and musically stimulating camp is for musicians at all levels! Students learn to create, record, and perform songs utilizing Clavinova digital pianos and music software including Garage Band. Campers perform in an end-of-camp concert and receive a CD and DVD of student created songs and music videos. Located at Island Park Elementary School.

Professional game designer Michael Adams has over 20 games on the market with publishers including Cranium, Mattel, Hasbro, and Gamewright. Students will learn to think like an inventor while exploring and playing many genres of games including, dice, deck building, targeting, social, and strategy. Assisted by Michael's guidance and expertise, each child will invent, prototype, play-test, and refine at least one game during the week. Parents will be invited Friday afternoon to a game party to show off all the inventions.

Come join Seattle's Littlest Performers for a fun-filled summer of singing, dancing and drama! During the week of Broadway Remix students will get a chance to act, dance and sing as we learn songs and scenes from a variety of Broadway classics. Musicals may include Singing in the Rain, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, Mary Poppins and more. Perfect for the student who wants to try it all.
