We help campers build language and cultural competency while having lots of summer fun! Our camp leaders are great at making kids excited about language, culture and the world – and they happen to be native-speaking, experienced language teachers, too. We’ll travel across the ocean and learn about some magical characters from China. Campers will explore Chinese myths, festivals, and foods. We will tell stories about magical dragons, make boats for the Dragon Boat Festival and cook delicious dumplings!

Camp BLAST OFF!: What does it take to get into space? Lots of rocket power! Test out different ‘rockets’ to see which ones will climb the highest. Design your custom space cruiser and then build it. Make and launch a different rocket each day.

Join us for another year of fun-filled outdoor adventure at Magnuson Park! Wiggly Worms Camp is filled with hands-on nature exploration, songs, games, and nature crafts. It's designed to encourage curiosity and bonding with the natural world, and to develop big motor skills as well as dexterity. Do you know a fashionista designer full of ideas and looking for a place to use them? Send them to Made to learn the fundamentals of fashion design, color, sewing techniques, and fashion illustration. We will work with the designers to create a clothing line based on a central theme of their preference, and then they will sew one of their designs to take home. This is a 3 day camp.

Get ready for some summer fun! Join us for WMS Summer Camp 2013; we have some exciting Elementary Summer Camps planned. Woodinville Montessori School offers summer day camp programs for K-2nd grade and 3rd-6th grade. Ten sessions are available, June 19-August 23. Choose just one week, any combination of weeks, or all ten. Each week is planned around a theme that includes hands-on activities crafted to spark the imagination such as games, cooking projects, sports, building, animation and more. 'Up in the Sky': We will explore, dance, and sing about all things above us: sunshine, kites, birds, stars, butterflies and clouds! A focus on colors and counting complements the musical lessons. Your child can continue the theme of Up in the Sky with an experienced art instructor exploring art materials in 3-dimensional form, such as clay, decoupage, paper mache and more! Available Thursday or Friday mornings 6/20-7/19 (no class week of July 4th). Ages 1.5-3: Caregiver participation required. All gardening, all the time. Practice real gardening skills and use every tool in the shed. Learn tool safety and how to use a wide variety of hand tools. Dig a giant hole! Explore the family organic garden in this two-day class for parents and preschoolers. Learn what to plant and how to work together to grow in your own garden. This class introduces children and parents to insects, flowers and the garden world. The session includes gardening, an art project, stories, our famous sun tea and yummy snacks!

The highlight of this tour is a two-day Panda volunteer experience to care and interact with pandas in Bifengxia. Your family will gain knowledge about the panda through working and interacting with them. In addition, you will visit some of the best-loved travel destinations in China, such as the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors. This tour gives you the chance to immerse yourself in local customs and culture by exploring Beijing’s narrow alleyways (Hutongs), making dumplings with a local family, learning traditional handicrafts, and seeing folk shows. On this cultural immersion trip you’ll also visit a famous dinosaur museum, go bike riding, practice taiji, and much more! Note: Dates subject to confirmation.

The Aikido Kids Summer Day Camp is open to students of all skill levels. Students will study Aikido, a self-defense martial art, in a fun, save and supportive environment. We will cover self-defense basics, study the main Aikido skills categories, and develop our inner warrior during the introduction to sword class. Students will develop self-control, self-discipline, focus, and confidence while working with other student in one-on-one partner practice. Students will also take time for other fun activities like jump rope, japanese, speed math, and art projects. We'll also go bicycling every day on outdoor adventures to various Redmond locations including the Sammamish River Trail, the Redmond Library, and Marymoor Park. Students need to provide a bag lunch, and bring their bicycle and helmet for the outdoor adventures.

Grab a rolling pin and put on an apron! We’re going to be sifting, whisking, kneading, mixing and measuring as we bake savory and sweet creations from scratch. You’ll learn skills from the basics of proper measuring and correct utensil use to cake creations, flay pie crusts, the basics of working with yeasted dough and much more!

Aug 12-16 EXPERIMENT! (Science) Curious minds, prepare to be fired up in this week of exploration and experimentation, when we’ll put the basic tools and processes of science to the test in our own “laboratory.” **Ages 2.5 -5.

Aug 19-23 ADVENTURE! (Camping) Hike that trail! What do we need for camping and outdoor fun? Let’s build a tent and discover how to spot animals and other natural life. **Ages 2.5 -5.

Building on the successful experience from the previous years, Evergreen Chinese Academy's summer camps offers even more exciting and more engaging activities. In addition to Chinese traditional dance, martial arts, and brush painting, we will have magic show, cooking adventures, theater, kite-making, jewelry jamboree, and candy making. Our coach for the martial arts class looks forward to teaching campers the traditional lion dance. This year, we have added a theatrical focus to work with campers to perform Chinese/English bilingual plays. Children will enjoy making props and stage sets to perform for parents and friends. Healthy and delicious lunch and snacks will be provided.
