Join us for art camp! Session 1: Learn art fundamentals while exploring the world of bugs and animals. Session 2: Seeing through the eyes of famous artists while making art using their techniques. Enroll for one or both sessions.

BHS basketball camp is designed to build fundamentals, decision making, and competitive, confident players. Each camper will work directly with the Ballard High School coaching staff and players. Campers should bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Coach Sara Wetstone's Bio: A three-sport athlete in high school, Coach Wetstone earned twelve letters (soccer, softball and basketball) at Lakeside School in Seattle. Point guard and co-captain in basketball, her team went 96-1 in her last three seasons, winning two State titles, ranked #12 in the nation by USA Today and named Team of the Century by The Seattle Times. She was named Lakeside Female Athlete of the Year at graduation (’94) and was the Student Body President. Coach Wetstone earned her BA in Philosophy from Princeton University, where she was a two year co-captain on the women's basketball team. Post-graduation, she played and coached professionally in Denmark. On her return to Seattle to complete a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science, she coached the Seattle Community College women's basketball team and was named NWAACC North Division’s Coach of the Year in her first season. She enters her third season as Head Coach of the Girls Basketball program at Ballard High School.

During this camp we will focus on specific regions of the world, Europe, China, The Middle East and South America. We will learn about the food and culture of these regions and learn different cooking methods and tools that are used in these areas. On one day all cooking will be done in Woks and we will attempt to use chopsticks all day, to cook and eat! Campers will take home a six course “small plates” sampler from around the world on Friday.

Young chefs, bring your parent, grandparent, or caregiver and learn together how to make fun and healthy meals that the whole family will love. Adults, bring your child and help them to gain some self-sufficiency in the kitchen while you simultaneously gain some independence. Each session ends with a delicious lunchtime feast of all the dishes created in class.

Camp Sprouting Spirits teaches your child how to regulate their emotions, be mindful, respond to stress, and changes in a healthy way. We make most of our snacks, like pizza, a smoothie bar, and “rainbow salad”, made with organic and locally grown produce whenever possible. We also have a yoga or music class every day plus an arts and crafts project. Our activities and games promote compassion, creativity, co-operation, teamwork, and patience. The entire camp is outdoors and we walk to the Rose Garden daily! We emphasize nature, yoga, dance, music, games, cooking, building fairy-houses. Every child has a blast at Sprouting Spirits! You will not be let down.

Camp TechWise offers instruction in a variety of areas, including:  Photography / Video (short-film): Students will research, script, storyboard, shoot and edit a complete video short film. Game Creation: Students use game authoring software to build a multi-level computer game. Music / Sound / Video Editing: combine video with sound editing (what is called Multi-Track production) and mix in a heavy dose of singing. Programming: Intro to Programming. It’s not easy and you will be learning… but it is cool and the results are totally worth it! Digital Photography Workshop: Students select, shoot, manipulate, and present a portfolio & gallery. Website Workshop: Our course covers HTML and PHP, Style Sheets and skins (including the popular WordPress, Drupal and Joombla open source themes). Engineering and Robotics Workshop: put on an “engineering hat” and design, build, solve and innovate their own creations. Linux: Install a Linux-based operating system. Networking: Campers connect several computers to create a network. Scientific Thinking Workshop: Students learn about topics and careers in scientific fields and perform hand-on experiments and discoveries. Machinima: make funny videos using the 3D animated characters from video games.

All cheerleaders will receive a camp gift! Please bring a snack and a water bottle, and wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

Discovery Days, where imagination comes alive...at camp! This day is part of the Seattle Children's Museum Summer Camp program which provides a create-your-own summer opportunity for families to select their own combination of single, half-day or full-day camps throughout June, July and August. SDS Drum Camp is open to drummers of all skill levels who want beat themselves into a fury of rhythmic bliss and group consciousness! Students will learn the fundamentals of technique and time while exploring the magic of self-expression through layers of rhythmic creation and improvisation. The camp will culminate in an ensemble performance in the L.A.B. at 1 p.m. on Friday. Dancing is encouraged!

Dabble into dance and nurture your inner artist! This four-day camp includes a daily ballet class plus one enrichment class (such as modern, stretching/conditioning, character and variations). Participants also have a one-hour art class each day that relates to their studio work.

From racecars to Battletracks, this is a hands-on and minds-on camp suitable for LEGO® novices to "maniacs." From the first aviators to modern astronauts, people have been fascinated by the view from above. This week campers will examine the various ways in which the Earth is observed from on high. From spy planes to drones to satellites; the evolution of aerial reconnaissance will be explored.

The Tempest: Magicians, spirits, and fools converge on an isolated island to wreak havoc and love in a playful frolic for all ages. Join GreenStage in this special opportunity for enrichment and fun this summer. In our one week camps, kids will rehearse and perform an abbreviated version of one of Shakespeare’s plays. Everyone gets a role! Audition and resume tips will be covered and head shots (actor photos) will be taken by a professional photographer. Friday rehearsal goes until 3 pm with the performance starting at 3 pm sharp. Costumes are provided. All you need to provide is a sack lunch and drink daily. Camps are directed by GreenStage teaching staff.

Nature is full of wonderful opportunities to inspire art. We’ll create sculptures, drawings, poetry, and music to help you learn about the wide world outside your home. Brightwater is full of wildlife like frogs, snakes, coyotes, deer, and eagles to inspire the art we create and fuel our explorations. We’ll also build nature journals that we’ll use all week to keep track of our sketches and notes as we develop our naturalist skills. This camp is perfect for campers who love art and spending time outdoors.
