Wilderness Awareness School offers Advanced Survival Skills Day Camp and Advanced Scout Awareness Day Camp at various parks in the Seattle area for ages 10-12. These outdoor summer camps build on knowledge gained at our beginner day camps, and require at least one week of prior camp experience with us. This week can be taken earlier the same summer. Scout awareness camp focuses on using our senses to the fullest, as did the ancient “scouts” of many cultures. Survival camp is an extremely hands-on camp that includes fire making, wilderness craft and tool making.

Just like birthdays, slumber parties are a year around event for kids and who doesn't want to show off their new PJ party attire and goodies? In this class the girls will learn basic sewing techniques through making a pair of PJs (with pocket's of course), A Woobie (rice filled, microwaveable, warmers), a travel pillow with hidden pocket and a fun face on it, and a drawstring tote to carry their PJ supplies to and fro.  A small materials list will be emailed before class.

Join us for an exciting 2-day camp, filled with fun and delicious activities! Day 1: snack walk in our organic p-patch plot, begin the harvest, make flower bouquets and chef's hats, and set up our "banquet room". Ekone Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind camp program on 1060 acres of canyonlands, forests and meadows near the Columbia Gorge. Our residential, co-ed camp program features small groups of no more than 20 children per session and a 6:1 camper/staff ratio or better. Horse camp sessions emphasize the special relationship between children and horses. Campers spend many hours each day with our wonderful horses, grooming, learning groundwork, practicing in the arena, and going on long trail rides through spectacular country. We ride bareback and western. When not with the horses, campers are engaged in a variety of art projects, nature explorations, swimming, ranch activities and chores. Our garden-fresh, from-scratch food is a highlight of the camp experience (many a camper has learned to love their vegetables in the Yummy Tummy Cafe). Campers sleep in our A-frame longhouse, in tipis, under the stars, or in the hay barn where we listen to the horses breathe all night long. The All-Level Horse Camp sessions have a maximum group size of 24 and a minimum staff:camper ratio of 1:5.  This is one of our co-ed sessions.

Forest tribal knowledge around the globe is dwindling. Can you rise to the challenges of teamwork and diversity, to band together, in order to help the tribes regain their strength? Initiation into the tribe begins with the spirit animal choosing ceremony. Your tribe will then be challenged to acquire honor beads for each task that is successfully completed. How will your fellow tribe members prepare for the adventure that lies ahead? Search for those that know the ways of the plants and animals in order to gain valuable wisdom that has been passed on from generation to generation. The transformation will be complete when you can demonstrate your abilities in ancient techniques such as: - Build a shelter out of natural materials - Make a totem animal amulet - Create a tribal journal for future generations - Identify native plants and their uses - Practice the five qualities of a successful tribe.

Eremon Farm is pleased to offer our annual Summer Riding Camps! Our camps are designed to offer your young rider(s) a chance to experience the art and love of horse riding and care first hand. Our camps are exclusively horse focused and designed to provide a large amount of saddle time so our beginning campers can learn their basics (walk/trot/canter and pole courses) or our more experienced riders can learn new, more advanced riding techniques with their flat work and jumping. Among many things, our campers will learn: · Horse and barn safety · How to tack, ride and care for their horse · Name the parts of the horse and tack · Become proficient in barn and tack care; · And, of course, ride! We have twice daily riding sessions, mounted games and plenty of hands-on learning time with the horses. Parents are also invited to join us on our last day for a mini “show” where the students will have a chance to show off what they have learned over the week. Owner/Trainer Joanna Jackowich has years of experience teaching and directing riding camps, as well as being a professional A circuit instructor and coach. Joanna personally heads up each camp to ensure a safe and fun learning atmosphere for all students.
