We will be moving around the Seattle Center / Lower Queen Anne area and even to utilizing some other cool venues such as The EMP, The Interactive Media Museum, and SIFF or IMAX theaters.
We'll take advantage of our beautiful landmark location under the Space Needle enjoying the grass, fountains, and great open areas when collecting video footage or photos to use in projects and for recreation periods.
Campers also have the opportunity to visit local companies to see how their creative teams and developers really work.
Camp TechWise offers instruction in a variety of areas, including: Photography / Video (short-film): Students will research, script, storyboard, shoot and edit a complete video short film. Game Creation: Students use game authoring software to build a multi-level computer game. Music / Sound / Video Editing: combine video with sound editing (what is called Multi-Track production) and mix in a heavy dose of singing. Programming: Intro to Programming. It’s not easy and you will be learning… but it is cool and the results are totally worth it! Digital Photography Workshop: Students select, shoot, manipulate, and present a portfolio & gallery. Website Workshop: Our course covers HTML and PHP, Style Sheets and skins (including the popular WordPress, Drupal and Joombla open source themes). Engineering and Robotics Workshop: put on an “engineering hat” and design, build, solve and innovate their own creations. Linux: Install a Linux-based operating system. Networking: Campers connect several computers to create a network. Scientific Thinking Workshop: Students learn about topics and careers in scientific fields and perform hand-on experiments and discoveries. Machinima: make funny videos using the 3D animated characters from video games.
