Rain City Fencing Level 1 Foil Camp (Juniors)

Our USFCA certified instructors start at the very beginning with the on guard position and basic footwork. We teach basic offensive and defensive moves, the basic rules of the game of foil fencing, and end with an informal tournament on Friday. Kids' classes play lots of fencing-related games. Junior classes are a little more focused on technique, tactics, and mechanics. Our goal in both camps is to have fun while learning the basics of modern Olympic sports fencing.

We will focus on tactics and mechanics, and there will be an emphasis on bouting. The first half of each class will consist of paired drills and group exercises. The second half of class will consist of drills and bouting on the electric scoring apparatus. Instructor's permission required before signing up for this camp.

It's their chance to unlock their creative potential, acquire rehearsal skills, and learn cooperation and teamwork. The band members will work with a full time coach who will encourage them to build their own sound and even to compose their own songs if they're interested! The final performance, the Friday of camp at 1 p.m. in the L.A.B., is not to be missed by family, friends, neighbors, anyone who loves to see the unbelievable results of five days of collaboration and magic.
