Our Level 1 (beginning) camps are designed for the complete beginner. We provide all the required fencing equipment. Our USFCA certified instructors start at the very beginning with the on guard position and basic footwork. We teach basic offensive and defensive moves, the basic rules of the game of foil fencing, and end with an informal tournament on Friday. Kids' classes play lots of fencing-related games. Junior classes are a little more focused on technique, tactics, and mechanics. Our goal in both camps is to have fun while learning the basics of modern Olympic sports fencing.

The Level 3/4 camp assumes a minimum of one year of classes at RCFC or a similar program. We will focus on tactics and mechanics, and there will be an emphasis on bouting. The first half of each class will consist of paired drills and group exercises. The second half of class will consist of drills and bouting on the electric scoring apparatus. Instructor's permission required before signing up for this camp.

Seattle Drum School Rock Band Camp is an amazing experience for young musicians of any skill level! It's their chance to unlock their creative potential, acquire rehearsal skills, and learn cooperation and teamwork. The band members will work with a full time coach who will encourage them to build their own sound and even to compose their own songs if they're interested! The final performance, the Friday of camp at 1 p.m. in the L.A.B., is not to be missed by family, friends, neighbors, anyone who loves to see the unbelievable results of five days of collaboration and magic.

Ropeworks’ jump rope camps are directed and run by World Jump Rope Champion and Cirque Du Soleil Artist Rene Bibaud. Boys and girls of all skill levels are invited to participate in our jump rope camps, which teach kids the following disciplines: single rope skills, partner routines, double Dutch, jumping long rope skills, group game choreography and more. Kids work together in a fun and rewarding environment of goal setting, best effort and team building. Play games, learn skills, develop new skills and stay fit in our fun-filled high energy program that really gets kids jumping! Camp culminates with a performance for friends and family. Be a hero for planet Earth! SAM Campers will create their own green art and learn about environmentalism as they explore the world-famous Olympic Sculpture Park and Seattle Art Museum Downtown. They will make superhero costumes from recycled materials, create trash sculptures, and learn the everyday acts they can do with their families back home to save our planet! Includes a visit to the galleries at Seattle Art Museum Downtonwn. Drop-off and pick-up location for this camp is Olympic Sculpture Park.

Experienced students will learn how to perform songs by Led Zeppelin, one of the most respected bands in rock history. This camp will focus on their early material, records I-IV. All Performance Camps run one week with a special performance at a real rock venue Friday early evening. For students 8-18, some experience necessary. This final performance will be combined with the Seattle School of Rock Led Zeppelin camp!

In the Shakespeare Comedy and Combat Class, laughter and trickery abound. Camperss work on comedic scenes and monologues from Shakespeare, focusing on the funny stuff. Students will also learn a little stage combat, a little Elizabethan Dance and have plenty of time for showing off their funny bones.

Explore all the Northwest has to offer by becoming an outdoor explorer! Develop an appreciation for the natural environment through hands-on experiments, games, and outdoor activities. Learn to identify Washington plants and animals, understand the relationship between living things in an ecosystem, and develop wilderness survival skills. We will visit Stone Gardens to learn to rock climb with the experts.

Led by trained high school teen volunteers, this three-day, fun-filled camp highlights arts and crafts, cooking, sports, nature, special events and more! This Magnuson sponsored grant based camp is supervised by Recreation Leaders and community center staff. Bring a sack lunch/drink. Course # 97580 on SPARC.

Campers have a fun-filled week of being involved with the many animals at our new Redmond facility, and taking part in hands-on learning about horses, grooming, English or western riding, horse shows or trail rides, and vet care. Activities can include arts and crafts, farming, field trips, games, hiking, pony rides, nature studies, outdoor living, team-building, and much more. Camp will be led by one staff person with a maximum of eight participants.

Camp Weather Wonders: (new in 2013) Where do rain and snow come from? What makes the wind blow? How is lightning formed? These are some of the questions that campers will answer as they spend the week discovering new things about weather and our environment.

Tighten your Kuiper belt as you make an intergalactic passport from Sol all the way out to the Oort cloud! At each stop you learn about how we explore our Universe. Hands-on activities and crafts include making a miniature green-house to understand why Venus is so hot and building robotic rovers to see how we learn about Mars.

Kids get a kick out of soccer! UK Petite Soccer is an introduction to soccer for 3-5 year olds. Fundamentals of soccer will be taught using a games based approach, all within a fun learning environment with one of the professional UK Elite Soccer coaches. Two times to choose from, 10-11:15 a.m. (course #97550 on SPARC) or 1-2:15 p.m. (course #97551 on SPARC).

Come join us at View Ridge Playfield for Wedgwood Drama Studio’s theater summer camp. We’ll play theater games, build original characters, explore movement and scene work and learn what it takes to create an original performance all in the beautiful outdoors! Camp is led by Wedgwood Drama Studio’s brother and sister team Michael and Christi Cruz who have over 15 years experience performing on the stage, screen and teaching in the classroom.  Camp fills at 16 campers on a first come, first served basis.
