Come join us in the fairy ring! This four-day camp is inspired by flowers and fairies from classical ballets and nature. Each day is split equally between dance and art. Culminates in an informal performance and gallery of student artwork.

Travel to fantastic new worlds without ever leaving the Museum! We’ll make believe with pirates, kings and queens, crazy creatures, fairies and elves.

Seattle may have a lot of rain, but we also have lots of lakes and beaches to play in during the summer. In this two day camp, kids will make beach necessities, a swimsuit coverup and floppy beach hat. They will learn the basics of sewing on the machine as well as oodles of other sewing techniques. A small materials list will be emailed before class.

Children ages 3 to 5 years will be able to use glue, scissors, crayons, & markers. Special projects with watercolor, easel painting, finger painting, color mixing, and dough art. We incorporate the Montessori philosophy in our program. Field trip to Klay Crazy Ceramics (Auburn) on July 12. We meet at Klay Crazy. Cost: You get to help your child pick a ceramic to paint and you pay at Klay Crazy. The prices range from $4 to $10 (plus 9.5% tax) for ceramic, painting, & finished product. Your whole family can attend the field trip.

This camp is all about putting things together and building. They will transform drawings into 3 dimensional works of art while working on concepts like visual balance and narrative. Students will create collages, wall-hangings, buildings, spaceships and cars out of cardboard, plastic, paper, wood and much more.

Are you ready to put your art on the map? Make collages, paintings and sculptures in response to art from around the globe. Along the way campers will create their own passports, mixed media maps, masks and more. This week will also include fun music workshops and a visit to the galleries at Seattle Art Museum Downtown. Engage in fun, hands-on activities as you create your own masterpieces in our Do-It-Yourself Camp! Get your hands dirty as you squeeze, coil, and build original sculptures out of clay. Put on the chef’s hat and make desserts that are both delicious and beautiful. Turn a pair of boring white canvas shoes into art by painting a fashion-forward design and showing them off on the runway. Become a chocolatier at Dawn’s Candy & Cake Chocolate 101 class. At D.I.Y. Camp, we empower our campers to say, “Yes, I did it myself!”

Wilderness Awareness School has partnered together with Oxbow Farm, and we are serving up something very special this summer! During this week of daily adventures your child will explore the edge where Farm and Forest meet. In addition to Wilderness Awareness School’s unique day camp experience learning about plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills…we’re down on the farm! Kids will make their own sun tea, fresh fruit popsicles, and farm burritos. They will dig roots and pick fruits, save, sow, and snack on seeds. On the final day, we will harvest produce for an end-of-week Happy Camper Farmers Market! Each day we enjoy storytelling under the Maple Tree, as well as songs, crafts, and play surrounding food, farm and forest life. Camp is held at Oxbow Farm in the Snoqualmie Valley (about 15 minutes from Redmond). It is on a 120-acre property, with 20 acres of certified organic vegetables, berries and tree fruit in cultivation for the fresh market.

Summer comes and goes each year but fashionable wardrobe stapes are forever. In this class the kids learn sewing basics, using patterns and finishing techniques while creating a maxi dress, wrap skirt and cinch purse. Just what every fashionable girl needs in her wardrobe! Please note: This class is for kids who already have a firm understanding of the sewing machine. A materials list will be emailed to you closer to the class date.

This five night camp is focused on learning wilderness survival skills basics while practicing them daily at our school campus near Duvall. Campers will have opportunities to practice fire making, knife safety and carving, shelter construction and primitive cooking. They may choose to create their own fire kit, spoon, bowl or other similar craft to take home. Participants will also have the opportunity to sleep in shelters they have constructed from natural materials. They are sure to bring home amazing stories from this week with us! Survival Overnight Camp begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday. All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form upon registration. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. Completion of this form will require a physical exam completed within one year of the course date, and an appointment with that physician for the form to be filled out. We appreciate your understanding.
