Students will learn to think like an inventor while exploring and playing many genres of games including, dice, deck building, targeting, social, and strategy. Assisted by Michael's guidance and expertise, each child will invent, prototype, play-test, and refine at least one game during the week. Parents will be invited Friday afternoon to a game party to show off all the inventions.

Game Creation: Students use game authoring software to build a multi-level computer game. It’s not easy and you will be learning… but it is cool and the results are totally worth it! Digital Photography Workshop: Students select, shoot, manipulate, and present a portfolio & gallery. We will be moving around the Seattle Center / Lower Queen Anne area and even to utilizing some other cool venues such as The EMP, The Interactive Media Museum, and SIFF or IMAX theaters.
We'll take advantage of our beautiful landmark location under the Space Needle enjoying the grass, fountains, and great open areas when collecting video footage or photos to use in projects and for recreation periods.
Campers also have the opportunity to visit local companies to see how their creative teams and developers really work.

This week at OmCulture Summer Skills Camp your child will be exploring the intersection of creation and technology as a part of the DIY/Open Source culture. Our Artist in Residence will bring in various technological instruments/toys/techniques for kids to explore and play with. The week will be spent working in groups, interacting with each other and with lights, video, and creative input devices that allow them to control, inspire and design their surroundings. The last day will culminate with a performance-art-lecture by the students, letting them communicate their creations, and interact with the audience as they lead them through the interactive displays.
