The waters of the Earth are in jeopardy. Poseidon, protector of the seas, is returning to see how humans have been caring for the oceans for the last thousand years. Find the hidden clues and follow them to reveal the Jewel Keeper. Only if you acquire the necessary knowledge will your team be rewarded with a Jewel of Light. Call Poseidon up from the depths and return to him the Jewels for safekeeping for the next millennium. Along the way you will encounter many challenges and surprises. Combine the strengths of your fellow adventurers to solve riddles and make decisions that will affect the outcome of your quest. Use science techniques like: - Test water for temperature and pH - Observe zooplankton and phytoplankton - Explore a living tide pool - Look for hidden aquatic pollutants - Learn how to use a map and compass.

Imagine the perfect summer day…explore the barnyard, hike a leaf-canopied trail, play active outdoor games, create multi-media art and make new friends. The strength of our camp stems from our small group sizes allowing personal attention to each child. Each week offers a variety of activities in which children’s interests are stimulated. Weekly field trip provided to a City of Bellevue beach or local place of interest. If extended care is needed please sign-up when you register for camp.

Since 1995, our summer day camps have offered creative play, exploration and adventure, as children work together in small groups gaining nature awareness and experiential knowledge of plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills. Our highly trained instructors guide students into experiences that nurture their connection to the earth and allow them to feel at home in nature. Fun and adventure are only part of the story. Our 1:8 staff-student ratio allows our instructors at our summer day camps to facilitate the development of tangible and intangible skills like teamwork and communication; thankfulness; awareness; patience; common sense; self confidence; problem-solving; and respect for self, each other and nature. These skills are woven invisibly into each of our summer day camps through storytelling, active questioning and engaging nature activities. For example, campers might learn patience through the need to get close to wildlife, or teamwork and communication through the need to quickly build a group shelter. Our focus is on helping children to build skills that will serve them for a lifetime.  Camps take place in Bellevue, Kirkland, Seattle and Carnation. See website for camp schedule.

Your child will be cared for by trained and competent staff in a small group setting. This camp offers an opportunity for children to be independent thinkers and gain self-esteem. Your child will take part in a variety of enrichment activities that will open the door to discoveries in art, science, nature, cooking, make believe and staying active. Your child will use their imagination, keeping them engaged and active this summer. Each week will bring a variety of new and different activities. Classic Day Camp: Entering grade 1-6 Campers enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities each day including the flying squirrel activity on our ropes course and water sports. Includes an optional Thursday BBQ, carnival, waterfront show, and overnight stay. 3 Day Classic Day Camp (June 30- July 5): Entering grade 1-6 H20 Day Camp (August 18-23): Entering grade 1-6 Longer days (8am-6pm)include more waterfront time, more tubing, and more water sports time!

Campers enjoy a variety of on-site activities including tubing, water activities, ropes courses, team competitions, games, relevant speakers and more BLAST Camp (June 23-28): Entering grade 6-9 Little Overnight Camp (June 30- July 5): Entering grade 2-5 Junior Overnight Camp (July 7- 12; July 21-26; Aug 4-9): Entering grade 4-6 Teen Overnight Camp (July 38-Aug 2): Entering grade 7-10 Experience the ultimate in water sports with more water activities and extra time on our ski boats in addition to all the fun camp has to offer. Seattle Audubon offers hands-on, nature-focused day camps for children entering 1st – 6th grade, and overnight camps for students entering 7th – 9th grades. Come discover, explore, and learn more about the natural world around us! We also have volunteer opportunities for high school students (entering 10th - 12th grade) through our Junior Naturalist in Training Program. Teens learn the skills of a naturalist and help teach campers about the environment while getting community service hours. Explore traditional materials and methods used by early settlers and first people. Learn the lore and medicinal uses of common weeds and native plants. Create a naturalist's journal to keep recipes and memories. This theme-based weeklong day camp is a great way to have summer fun while learning about the fascinating world of the garden. Spend five days developing practical garden skills, exploring plants and discovering animals that live in Seattle Tilth's community learning gardens and Meridian Park. This camp is intended for those entering grades 1-4 in fall 2013.

If your teen or preteen loves gardening and working with younger students, this is for them! Junior Counselors help set-up and clean-up garden activities, assist Children's Garden staff, lead small group activities and learn more about organic gardening. Week-long placements offer all the fun of summer camp with the opportunity to develop leadership skills. Jr. Counselors come 30 minutes before campers arrive and stay 30 minutes after campers depart to help set-up and clean-up (these times are built into the listing below). Leadership training and orientation will be provided.

Join us for another year of fun-filled outdoor adventure at Magnuson Park! Soil Detectives Camp is filled with hands-on nature exploration, songs, games, and nature crafts. It's designed to encourage curiosity and bonding with the natural world, and to develop big motor skills as well as dexterity. Camp fee includes an official Jr. Nature Explorers bandana - sign up for one or several! Bring a nutritious lunch and a water bottle. Course # 97534 on SPARC.

Our Farm Day Camps are a great way to learn about all the great things that happen on a farm every day. Learn all about gardening, composting, recycling, cooking, water dynamics, and caring for all the various farm animals, chickens, goats, horses, and ponies. Enjoy more fun stuff each day with Arts and Crafts, Games, and much more.

Camp FLYING ANIMALS: (new in 2013) It's a bird! It’s a plane…No, wait...it really is a bird! Join us for a week of things with wings as we discover the many amazing flying animals in the world around us. Campers will learn about the many wonderful adaptations that our feathered and furry friends use to take to the air!

Wilderness Awareness School summer camps cultivate young people’s understanding and appreciation of nature, community and self. Through exploration, adventure and creative play, students work together in small groups gaining knowledge of plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills. We offer full-day summer camps at parks in Bellevue, Seattle, Kirkland and Carnation.
