Rock Band Summer Camps at Off the Wall School of Music

Each camp has a student-to-staff ratio of no more than 5-to-1. This is one of the best values in Seattle for youth camps! Each week of camp concludes with a final performance for friends, family, and fans on Friday at 1:30 pm. Students will be grouped with other kids of the same age and abilities. Students should bring lunch and a snack for each day. Treats will be provided on Friday. Full tuition is $349. Special deal for returning rockers! If you or a sibling has already taken Rock Band with us this year, you can save $150 and take Rock Band Camp again for only $200.

The theme of our camp is improvisation and interconnected art. This is a two-week performing and fine arts camp and all students are welcome; you need not be an Explorer West student. During camp, students will explore dance, acting, circus arts, music, and fine arts in the theme of improvisation. How does a painting inspire a work of dance? How does a song inspire a scene? Students will create their own world of art in a camp that is designed for any skill level. Students will work towards a one-of-a-kind student created final performance for families and friends. This camp will provide a full week of Blues Piano Instruction. Students who have little or no blues piano background will enjoy instruction that is comprehensive, focused and fun! The week will conclude with the students performing with a professional blues band. Topics include an introduction to the Blues, its history, style and accessibility to any pianist who wants to enjoy its fun. Students will gain confidence as they develop listening skills from ear-training exercises, rhythmic development from group rhythm games, and blues “Chops” from daily private piano lessons and practice time.

Stage Struck has made a loose and kid-friendly adaptation of this hugely popular musical based on the music of the 70?s pop group ABBA.
