Be a nature observer, learn to draw and paint beautiful plants, flowers, and animals. Develop a green thumb by putting your hands in soil, mixing, digging, and planning a container herb garden. Be a Fauvist artist and paint the summer landscape with wild colors. Get creative with natural materials and make earth art in the forest. At our new Art of Nature Day Camp, participants will dive into a hands-on relationship with the world around them, working with materials and inspiration from nature to produce a varied items of creative expression! During this week of camp, your child will create some art to bring home as well as having the opportunity to experiment with site-specific sculpture and land art. This camp is ideal for those who have previously participated in our Nature Adventure Day Camps, but there are no prerequisites! Campers will work on a variety of art projects throughout the week; some projects will utilize materials from nature in the creation of art, such as natural plant dyes and tree-bark boxes, while other projects such as drawing or writing will be opportunities for expression of what participants see and experience in nature. This camp will include a variety of creative projects to choose from, activities designed to stimulate inspiration and basic instruction on some artistic principles, as well as new games and stories (along with some old favorites). Neither your standard art camp, nor the nature camp that you have done before – this is not merely a combination of the two, but a whole new experience that will bring out the beauty of both!

Youth Venture Summer Camp will bring out the inner entrepreneur in your young person. During the week long camp, students learn about leadership, entrepreneurship and social justice issues, and then create their unique business approach to solve their chosen issue. Youth Venture will provide seed funding to the top teams up to $1000. Experienced staff support participants in creating a business plan, presenting a 5 minute culminating pitch, leadership skills and public speaking skills. Young people have the opportunity to team up with other participants to create a venture.

Ekone Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind camp program on 1060 acres of canyonlands, forests and meadows near the Columbia Gorge. Our residential, co-ed camp program features small groups of no more than 20 children per session and a 6:1 camper/staff ratio or better. Horse camp sessions emphasize the special relationship between children and horses. Campers spend many hours each day with our wonderful horses, grooming, learning groundwork, practicing in the arena, and going on long trail rides through spectacular country. We ride bareback and western. When not with the horses, campers are engaged in a variety of art projects, nature explorations, swimming, ranch activities and chores. Our garden-fresh, from-scratch food is a highlight of the camp experience (many a camper has learned to love their vegetables in the Yummy Tummy Cafe). Campers sleep in our A-frame longhouse, in tipis, under the stars, or in the hay barn where we listen to the horses breathe all night long. The All-Level Horse Camp sessions have a maximum group size of 24 and a minimum staff:camper ratio of 1:5.  This is one of our co-ed sessions.

A call to adventure beckons each of us toward an experience that extends beyond our level of comfort and current understanding. This backpacking program is a fun, exciting and significant first step on the Hero(ine)'s Journey. Under the guidance and encouragement of our experienced mentors, participants learn to cultivate a variety of interpersonal and wilderness skills in a challenging, yet supportive environment. Leadership, responsibility, communication --- these are just some of the skills that are called forth and developed to bring a sense of community into practical tasks, in the sharing circles around the fire, and in the fun and joy of playing together. This camp adds to the skills and experience of our Survival Overnight Camp, and offers an in-depth first experience for older teens who have not participated in programs with us previously. We offer in this camp many opportunities to practice safe knife use, fire-making, primitive cooking, bullfrog hunting, basket-making and a variety of other skills, taking all of them to an advanced level that is appropriate to participants' age and experience. The village feel of this camp is notable, and participants of this camp connect with each other deeply through profound shared experience. Of the five nights, three will be spent in a natural shelter “village” created by the participants, where all will prepare food together and sleep in individual or group shelters. The Advanced Survival Overnight is a camp on our school campus near Duvall for participants who are socially mature and seriously interested in expanding their knowledge and skills of wilderness survival and community building. We will not only be surviving, but thriving together as we experience the gifts that each person brings to community, and that the natural world offers to us all. Overnight Camp begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday. All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form by June 1. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. Completion of this form will require a physical exam completed within one year of the course date, and an appointment with that physician for the form to be filled out. This five night camp is focused on learning wilderness survival skills basics while practicing them daily at our school campus near Duvall. Campers will have opportunities to practice fire making, knife safety and carving, shelter construction and primitive cooking. They may choose to create their own fire kit, spoon, bowl or other similar craft to take home. Participants will also have the opportunity to sleep in shelters they have constructed from natural materials. They are sure to bring home amazing stories from this week with us! Survival Overnight Camp begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday. All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form upon registration. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. Camp Sparkle is for any child or teen who is impacted by cancer. The camper may have a cancer diagnosis themselves, have a parent or sibling with a cancer diagnosis, or have lost a loved one to cancer. We offer emotional support and fun field trips each day. Free of charge. Must become a member of Gilda's Club Seattle to attend.

Camp Sprouting Spirits teaches your child how to regulate their emotions, be mindful, respond to stress, and changes in a healthy way. We make most of our snacks, like pizza, a smoothie bar, and “rainbow salad”, made with organic and locally grown produce whenever possible. We also have a yoga or music class every day plus an arts and crafts project. Our activities and games promote compassion, creativity, co-operation, teamwork, and patience. The entire camp is outdoors and we walk to the Rose Garden daily! We emphasize nature, yoga, dance, music, games, cooking, building fairy-houses. Every child has a blast at Sprouting Spirits!
