Chess4Life instructors make the game come to life through exciting lessons on strategy, tactics, and many other topics that open the world of chess to students. Learn to fence in the morning and play chess in the afternoon. Transportation to and from Chess4Life and RCFC is provided by Chess4Life. Level 1 fencing is for complete beginners to the sport of fencing. We will teach footwork, basic blade skills, and simple bouting techniques.

Our USFCA certified instructors start at the very beginning with the on guard position and basic footwork. We teach basic offensive and defensive moves, the basic rules of the game of foil fencing, and end with an informal tournament on Friday. Kids' classes play lots of fencing-related games. Junior classes are a little more focused on technique, tactics, and mechanics. Our goal in both camps is to have fun while learning the basics of modern Olympic sports fencing.

We will focus on tactics and mechanics, and there will be an emphasis on bouting. The first half of each class will consist of paired drills and group exercises. The second half of class will consist of drills and bouting on the electric scoring apparatus. Instructor's permission required before signing up for this camp.

If you are unsure of your level, skaters must be tested at Highland Ice arena prior to admission to the class. Schedule your test with Mrs. Green. Are you ready to Jump Ahead to the next level in your ice skating? Here's the class for you! This one week intensive course will emphasize mastery of the upper levels of USFSA Basic Skills & Freestyle. Skaters will learn turn & edge skills, advanced stroking, teamwork, a group skating program and fun. The class will learn a group number which they will perform for family and friends on Friday at 3:25 pm. Skaters are encouraged to join our Skater Training Program after completing Jump Ahead.
