The Aikido Kids Summer Day Camp is open to students of all skill levels. Students will study Aikido, a self-defense martial art, in a fun, save and supportive environment. We will cover self-defense basics, study the main Aikido skills categories, and develop our inner warrior during the introduction to sword class. Students will develop self-control, self-discipline, focus, and confidence while working with other student in one-on-one partner practice. Students will also take time for other fun activities like jump rope, japanese, speed math, and art projects. We'll also go bicycling every day on outdoor adventures to various Redmond locations including the Sammamish River Trail, the Redmond Library, and Marymoor Park. Students need to provide a bag lunch, and bring their bicycle and helmet for the outdoor adventures.

The Pettijohn Piano Studio offers “Beginner’s Blues” Piano Camp to students with at least two years of piano instruction under their belts. This camp will provide a full week of Blues Piano Instruction. Students who have little or no blues piano background will enjoy instruction that is comprehensive, focused and fun! The week will conclude with the students performing with a professional blues band. Topics include an introduction to the Blues, its history, style and accessibility to any pianist who wants to enjoy its fun. Students will gain confidence as they develop listening skills from ear-training exercises, rhythmic development from group rhythm games, and blues “Chops” from daily private piano lessons and practice time.

In this inspiring program youth will learn: Yoga poses that increase physical strength and self confidence, breathing/meditation methods to help calm your body and mind, nutritional knowledge of how food affects mood, energy and vitality, methods for easy relaxation and stress management, the power of laughter and positive thinking, how to build strong, healthy relationships and creative expression through art and journaling. Join us.

During this camp we will focus on specific regions of the world, Europe, China, The Middle East and South America. We will learn about the food and culture of these regions and learn different cooking methods and tools that are used in these areas. On one day all cooking will be done in Woks and we will attempt to use chopsticks all day, to cook and eat! Campers will take home a six course “small plates” sampler from around the world on Friday.

Grab a rolling pin and put on an apron! We’re going to be sifting, whisking, kneading, mixing and measuring as we bake savory and sweet creations from scratch. You’ll learn skills from the basics of proper measuring and correct utensil use to cake creations, flay pie crusts, the basics of working with yeasted dough and much more!

Building on the successful experience from the previous years, Evergreen Chinese Academy's summer camps offers even more exciting and more engaging activities. In addition to Chinese traditional dance, martial arts, and brush painting, we will have magic show, cooking adventures, theater, kite-making, jewelry jamboree, and candy making. Our coach for the martial arts class looks forward to teaching campers the traditional lion dance. This year, we have added a theatrical focus to work with campers to perform Chinese/English bilingual plays. Children will enjoy making props and stage sets to perform for parents and friends. Healthy and delicious lunch and snacks will be provided.

Each summer, DigiPen offers two-week workshops that introduce elementary, middle, and high school students to a variety of fun and engaging Video Game Programming, Game Design, Fine Arts and Multimedia Production, and Engineering topics. These programs are offered at DigiPen’s Redmond, WA, campus, located within minutes of Nintendo of America, Microsoft Game Studios, and Valve Software at the heart of the video game industry.

The waters of the Earth are in jeopardy. Poseidon, protector of the seas, is returning to see how humans have been caring for the oceans for the last thousand years. Find the hidden clues and follow them to reveal the Jewel Keeper. Only if you acquire the necessary knowledge will your team be rewarded with a Jewel of Light. Call Poseidon up from the depths and return to him the Jewels for safekeeping for the next millennium. Along the way you will encounter many challenges and surprises. Combine the strengths of your fellow adventurers to solve riddles and make decisions that will affect the outcome of your quest. Use science techniques like: - Test water for temperature and pH - Observe zooplankton and phytoplankton - Explore a living tide pool - Look for hidden aquatic pollutants - Learn how to use a map and compass.

These open, mixed ballet classes are an excellent opportunity for dancers to try out Emerald Ballet Academy in Bellevue. Two weeks bookend our summer intensive program: June 24-28 and August 19-23. Students can sign up for a day, multiple days, or the entire week.

Heavier Than Air Musical Theatre Camp, located on the main campus of Green River Community College in Auburn, offers an outstanding opportunity for youth ages 3-17 to participate in the entire musical theatre experience, from the audition process to final performances. Experience Dance! is designed for younger students who want to try dance for the first time, or further develop their skills in a variety of dance forms and classes including: Ballet, Jazz, Character, Theatre Dance, Tap, Ballroom, Improvisation. Each two-week session culminates with a demonstration for family and friends. No audition is required for this program.  Note: Each Experience Dance! camp offers different material.

Each Explore Dance! camp is a one-week session designed to introduce young children to dance through simple dance steps, stretching, listening to music and also exploring classical ballet stories that are familiar children's tales through movement and fun craft projects. Each week of camp culminates with a demonstration for family and friends. No audition is required for this program.

For dancers with som experience, this program provides four weeks of comprehensive, pre-professional training in multiple dance styles with the emphasis on classical ballet based on Vaganova method from Russian Ballet Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia. Two-week & One-week sessions are also available ($495-$795). Curriculum includes: Ballet, Pointe, Men's Class, Pas De Deux/Contemporary, Variations, Character, Jazz/Theatre Dance, Modern, Choreography, Mime, Mat/Stretch, History of Dance and Nutrition/Injury Prevention.  The end of each session culminates with informal performance for family and friends. An audition is required for this program, on Saturday, April 27, 2013, or by appointment, with a $25 audition fee.

Travel back through time as we uncover the mysteries left behind by dinosaurs. We’ll study these magnificent prehistoric beasts, dig for dinosaur bones and create our own dinosaur fossils. Become a paleontologist in no time!

One-week athletics camps offered to students entering grades 5 - 9. Camps offered include Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Girls Volleyball, Co-ed Football, Co-ed Soccer and Co-ed Learn-to-Row.

High school courses open to students entering grades 9 - 12; offering a range of 6 and 3-week courses for credit in math, science, arts, history, English and languages. and 1 to 3-week skill strengthening courses. Skill strengthening courses in writing, research, design thinking and engineering, service learning, and SAT and college prep are also available.

Two-week academic camps for students entering grades 5 - 8. Students will take two classes in the morning, and after lunch spend the afternoon in outdoor activities with camp counselors. A variety of hands-on, project based classes are available, and students may take as many sessions as desired.

Kids will have a blast in this camp! Four days of play and other fun activities in one of Seattle's largest indoor playgrounds. Trikes, cars, riding toys galore, climb structures, obstacle courses, parachute play, craft-making, games, play houses, and more! Summer time is fun time! Have an outstanding time developing your sports skills at a fun filled camp with knowledgeable, enthusiastic staff. Little Champs is focused on the FUNdamentals that are age appropriate and show an emphasis on health and sportsmanship. Campers will be grouped by age.

By popular demand we are doing our very first Double Take: Doll and Girl Outfits. Who doesn't love matching outfits? In this class we will make this super cute tunic dress/tunic for both girl and doll. We will go over sewing basics as well as how to cut out and read a sewing pattern. Please bring: A small materials list will be emailed before class.

Due to the popularity of Mamma Mia offered later in the summer, we are offering the same Mamma Mia camp earlier as well. Sophie is getting married and wants her dad to walk her down the aisle. One problem. Who is her Dad? Everyone from her mom and the other two gals from the 1970?s group Donna and the Dynamos, to bridesmaids, fiancés and loads of wild Greek villagers help her solve this mystery. Stage Struck has made a  loose and kid-friendly adaptation of this hugely popular musical based on the music of the 70?s pop group ABBA. Come party with us to such favorites as  “Dancin’ Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “SOS,” “Super Trooper” and of course “Mamma Mia! ” Performance Friday, July 5, 7 PM. Late start to camp on July 5.
