The Explorer West Summer Arts Improvisation Camp - Theatre, Circus, Fine Arts, Dancing and Singing. The theme of our camp is improvisation and interconnected art. This is a two-week performing and fine arts camp and all students are welcome; you need not be an Explorer West student. During camp, students will explore dance, acting, circus arts, music, and fine arts in the theme of improvisation. How does a painting inspire a work of dance? How does a song inspire a scene? Students will create their own world of art in a camp that is designed for any skill level. Do you know a fashionista designer full of ideas and looking for a place to use them? Send them to Made to learn the fundamentals of fashion design, color, sewing techniques, and fashion illustration. We will work with the designers to create a clothing line based on a central theme of their preference, and then they will sew one of their designs to take home. This is a 3 day camp.

Get ready for some summer fun! Join us for WMS Summer Camp 2013; we have some exciting Elementary Summer Camps planned. Woodinville Montessori School offers summer day camp programs for K-2nd grade and 3rd-6th grade. Ten sessions are available, June 19-August 23. Choose just one week, any combination of weeks, or all ten. Each week is planned around a theme that includes hands-on activities crafted to spark the imagination such as games, cooking projects, sports, building, animation and more. Join us for an adventuresome two-day camp, exploring the diverse ecosystems of Magnuson Park with advanced nature science activities, and learning about native plants and peoples. Coast-to-Coast campers will explore shoreline trails and habitats, Wetlands campers will explore all the wetland trails in the park, and Woodlands campers will explore shady spots from the Kite Hill Forest to Promontory Point. 'Up in the Sky': We will explore, dance, and sing about all things above us: sunshine, kites, birds, stars, butterflies and clouds! A focus on colors and counting complements the musical lessons. Your child can continue the theme of Up in the Sky with an experienced art instructor exploring art materials in 3-dimensional form, such as clay, decoupage, paper mache and more! Explore the family organic garden in this two-day class for parents and preschoolers. Learn what to plant and how to work together to grow in your own garden. This class introduces children and parents to insects, flowers and the garden world. The session includes gardening, an art project, stories, our famous sun tea and yummy snacks!

The highlight of this tour is a two-day Panda volunteer experience to care and interact with pandas in Bifengxia. Your family will gain knowledge about the panda through working and interacting with them. In addition, you will visit some of the best-loved travel destinations in China, such as the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors. This tour gives you the chance to immerse yourself in local customs and culture by exploring Beijing’s narrow alleyways (Hutongs), making dumplings with a local family, learning traditional handicrafts, and seeing folk shows. La Révolution Française! French camp for any level of fluency. Spend two weeks on beautiful Canoe Island, located in the San Juans. Storm the barricades (with water balloons), sing La Marseillaise, and become Louis XVI or Marie Antoinette for a day. Or be a peasant and demand your rights as you issue your doléances to the king. Search the island for the royalty before bringing them to justice. Participate in the July 4th parade in Friday Harbor and watch the fireworks over Lopez Island. Learn how the American Revolution helped to instigate the French Revolution.

Ekone Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind camp program on 1060 acres of canyonlands, forests and meadows near the Columbia Gorge. Our residential, co-ed camp program features small groups of no more than 20 children per session and a 6:1 camper/staff ratio or better. Horse camp sessions emphasize the special relationship between children and horses. Campers spend many hours each day with our wonderful horses, grooming, learning groundwork, practicing in the arena, and going on long trail rides through spectacular country. We ride bareback and western. When not with the horses, campers are engaged in a variety of art projects, nature explorations, swimming, ranch activities and chores. Our garden-fresh, from-scratch food is a highlight of the camp experience (many a camper has learned to love their vegetables in the Yummy Tummy Cafe). The All-Level Horse Camp sessions have a maximum group size of 24 and a minimum staff:camper ratio of 1:5.  Most sessions are co-ed, but this is our one session reserved for girls only. This is both to provide an exclusive session for girls seeking all-girl company, and to concentrate our smaller numbers of boys into fewer sessions so that those sessions have more gender balance.

The Aikido Kids Summer Day Camp is open to students of all skill levels. Students will study Aikido, a self-defense martial art, in a fun, save and supportive environment. We will cover self-defense basics, study the main Aikido skills categories, and develop our inner warrior during the introduction to sword class. Students will develop self-control, self-discipline, focus, and confidence while working with other student in one-on-one partner practice. Students will also take time for other fun activities like jump rope, japanese, speed math, and art projects. We'll also go bicycling every day on outdoor adventures to various Redmond locations including the Sammamish River Trail, the Redmond Library, and Marymoor Park. Students need to provide a bag lunch, and bring their bicycle and helmet for the outdoor adventures.

The Pettijohn Piano Studio offers “Beginner’s Blues” Piano Camp to students with at least two years of piano instruction under their belts. This camp will provide a full week of Blues Piano Instruction. Students who have little or no blues piano background will enjoy instruction that is comprehensive, focused and fun! The week will conclude with the students performing with a professional blues band. Topics include an introduction to the Blues, its history, style and accessibility to any pianist who wants to enjoy its fun. Students will gain confidence as they develop listening skills from ear-training exercises, rhythmic development from group rhythm games, and blues “Chops” from daily private piano lessons and practice time.
