This camp expands on the experiences of our Nature Adventure Day Camps providing your camper with opportunities for more fun along with development of more focused wilderness skills. All campers will receive training and assessment in the safe use of knives, and will have opportunity during the week to use this skill with the attentive supervision of our staff. Other skills that your camper will have the opportunity to practice will include some (but not necessarily all) of the following; making fire with matches and with friction, safe and effective fire tending techniques, principles of shelter-building, identifying and harvesting wild edibles, open-fire cooking and stalking bullfrogs (catch-and-release only at this camp, no hunting). Projects might include making baskets for collecting wild food, candle making and hand-twisting cordage! Along with the focus on survival skills, your camper should be ready for some serious on-trail and off-trail exploration at our property in the foothills outside of Duvall. They may find themselves wading through the sword ferns gathering material for a shelter, crawling through a thicket to get at that perfect stick for a fire-making kit, or wading at the edge of our pond to gather cattail roots for a wild lunch. No matter what specific activities and adventures we have during a week of Survival Skills Day Camp, our goals remain the same -- that your child have fun, while learning about nature and themselves. At the end of a week with us, we hope that you see in your child increased self-confidence, as well as excitement about an assortment of new skills and stories of adventure.

Wilderness Awareness School has partnered together with Oxbow Farm, and we are serving up something very special this summer! During this week of daily adventures your child will explore the edge where Farm and Forest meet. In addition to Wilderness Awareness School’s unique day camp experience learning about plants, mammals, tracking, birds and survival skills…we’re down on the farm! Kids will make their own sun tea, fresh fruit popsicles, and farm burritos. They will dig roots and pick fruits, save, sow, and snack on seeds. On the final day, we will harvest produce for an end-of-week Happy Camper Farmers Market! Each day we enjoy storytelling under the Maple Tree, as well as songs, crafts, and play surrounding food, farm and forest life. Camp is held at Oxbow Farm in the Snoqualmie Valley (about 15 minutes from Redmond). It is on a 120-acre property, with 20 acres of certified organic vegetables, berries and tree fruit in cultivation for the fresh market.

This camp is specially designed for younger, developing wrestlers who want to understand this amazing sport. It's your opportunity to increase your skills, techniques and maneuvers, while developing your conditioning, motivation, sportsmanship and character. Our amazing BCS Wrestling Coaching staff and BCS Varsity Wrestlers will be at camp for five afternoons of fun, sweat and training.

Come explore the Dramatic Arts in a supportive and fun environment! This class we'll focus on creating an original performance using our bodies, voices and imaginations. Students will memorize lines, create original characters, and learn what it takes to prepare their work for performance. Led by Wedgwood Drama Studio’s Christi Cruz.

Art projects include outdoor still life with ink wash, tie dye t-shirt or beach cloth, paper mache free choice, painted paper owl, mermaid or seascape, Seattle foil citiscape or scratchart. Summer comes and goes each year but fashionable wardrobe stapes are forever. In this class the kids learn sewing basics, using patterns and finishing techniques while creating a maxi dress, wrap skirt and cinch purse. Just what every fashionable girl needs in her wardrobe! Please note: This class is for kids who already have a firm understanding of the sewing machine. A materials list will be emailed to you closer to the class date.

Cougar Quest is a residential academic summer camp for highly capable students on the Washington State University campus in Pullman, Washington (75 miles south of Spokane, WA). The camp is designed to meet the educational and social needs of young college-bound students entering grades 7 through 12 in fall 2013. There are two weeks of camp, one to accommodate entering 7th through 9th graders and the second for entering 9th through 12th graders. Students entering 9th grade have the option of choosing one week, or attending both. For one exciting week high achieving students attend three rigorous workshops of their choosing. Most workshops are taught by Washington State University professors and are full of hands-on activities that are meant to challenge and keep the interest of students.

Ekone Ranch offers a one-of-a-kind camp program on 1060 acres of canyonlands, forests and meadows near the Columbia Gorge. Our residential, co-ed camp program features small groups of no more than 20 children per session and a 6:1 camper/staff ratio or better. Horse camp sessions emphasize the special relationship between children and horses. Campers spend many hours each day with our wonderful horses, grooming, learning groundwork, practicing in the arena, and going on long trail rides through spectacular country. We ride bareback and western. When not with the horses, campers are engaged in a variety of art projects, nature explorations, swimming, ranch activities and chores. Our garden-fresh, from-scratch food is a highlight of the camp experience (many a camper has learned to love their vegetables in the Yummy Tummy Cafe). The All-Level Horse Camp sessions have a maximum group size of 24 and a minimum staff:camper ratio of 1:5.  This is one of our co-ed sessions.

This community-based three-week backpacking adventure will help your teen navigate the challenging road from childhood to adulthood. Your teen will have a chance to imagine how they want to be as adults, and then explore and practice what this means to them and their families, friends and communities. During three exciting weeks, teens develop a range of personal and interpersonal skills. A long backpacking trek lets them practice teamwork and wilderness skills. Solo time, journalling and nightly talking circles help them connect to and articulate their deeper thoughts and dreams.

Excite your young adventurer! Send you child along on a fun-filled introduction to wilderness and community. This Journeys is perfect for the first time camper or a young mountain trekker. Under the guidance and encouragement of our experienced staff and elders, participants will learn to cultivate a variety of interpersonal and wilderness skills. This happens in a challenging, yet supportive environment. As a result, children will come away with resources that will aid them in their day-to-day lives as they approach the mysteries of adolescence. Our programs are limited to 9 participants each out of respect for the wild places that we travel. Register early to make sure that your child has a spot on this Journey.

This five night camp is focused on learning wilderness survival skills basics while practicing them daily at our school campus near Duvall. Campers will have opportunities to practice fire making, knife safety and carving, shelter construction and primitive cooking. They may choose to create their own fire kit, spoon, bowl or other similar craft to take home. Participants will also have the opportunity to sleep in shelters they have constructed from natural materials. They are sure to bring home amazing stories from this week with us! Survival Overnight Camp begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Friday. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. on Friday. All youth overnight participants must return a signed Physician’s Medical Form upon registration. This is for the safety of our participants and our organization. Completion of this form will require a physical exam completed within one year of the course date, and an appointment with that physician for the form to be filled out. We appreciate your understanding.

Come create magical memories with us this summer as we design art, interact with domestic farm animals, splash in the pool, play camp games and meet other fellow budding artists! Have fun creating two arts and crafts projects per day while exploring many mediums including: tempera, acrylic, watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, charcoal, ink and more. Explore collage, clay, printmaking, painting, drawing, decoupage, crafts and recycled art! Between art classes, have fun playing with the bunnies, cats, chickens, duck and goose, piggies and goats! And, in between camp games, there is always time to have fun on the trampoline or in the pool with friends. This week's theme: Adventure Time -  Discover artful fairies, explore the world of superheroes, and uncover the art of cartooning!

BHS basketball camp is designed to build fundamentals, decision making, and competitive, confident players. Each camper will work directly with the Ballard High School coaching staff and players. Campers should bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Coach Sara Wetstone's Bio: A three-sport athlete in high school, Coach Wetstone earned twelve letters (soccer, softball and basketball) at Lakeside School in Seattle. Point guard and co-captain in basketball, her team went 96-1 in her last three seasons, winning two State titles, ranked #12 in the nation by USA Today and named Team of the Century by The Seattle Times. She was named Lakeside Female Athlete of the Year at graduation (’94) and was the Student Body President. Coach Wetstone earned her BA in Philosophy from Princeton University, where she was a two year co-captain on the women's basketball team. Post-graduation, she played and coached professionally in Denmark. On her return to Seattle to complete a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science, she coached the Seattle Community College women's basketball team and was named NWAACC North Division’s Coach of the Year in her first season. She enters her third season as Head Coach of the Girls Basketball program at Ballard High School.

In this inspiring program youth will learn: Yoga poses that increase physical strength and self confidence, breathing/meditation methods to help calm your body and mind, nutritional knowledge of how food affects mood, energy and vitality, methods for easy relaxation and stress management, the power of laughter and positive thinking, how to build strong, healthy relationships and creative expression through art and journaling. During this camp we will focus on specific regions of the world, Europe, China, The Middle East and South America. We will learn about the food and culture of these regions and learn different cooking methods and tools that are used in these areas. On one day all cooking will be done in Woks and we will attempt to use chopsticks all day, to cook and eat! Campers will take home a six course “small plates” sampler from around the world on Friday.

This camp encompasses favorites that are typically inexpensive, uncomplicated, and easy to prepare. In addition to a brief sojourn into ethnic foods, this camp will focus on practical meals and homemade favorites. These dishes are particularly good for young people when they need to keep costs down. Your young chef will rub elbows with many professional chefs all week long becoming competent and proficient in the kitchen by actually practicing hands-on culinary skills with them for five hours a day! Supply fee includes personalized chef's jacket , professional-quality chef's knife, Blue Ribbon electronic cookbook, diploma, daily lunch, and a student's ticket for Thursday Night's Graduation Dinner. This is our Senior Camp for ages 14-18.

Young chefs, bring your parent, grandparent, or caregiver and learn together how to make fun and healthy meals that the whole family will love. Adults, bring your child and help them to gain some self-sufficiency in the kitchen while you simultaneously gain some independence. Each session ends with a delicious lunchtime feast of all the dishes created in class.

Join the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra this summer with music camps for all age groups and experience levels. In this camp, Session 2: Accelerate your skills in strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion with other young musicians. End of camp concert on July 20.

Camp Sprouting Spirits teaches your child how to regulate their emotions, be mindful, respond to stress, and changes in a healthy way. We make most of our snacks, like pizza, a smoothie bar, and “rainbow salad”, made with organic and locally grown produce whenever possible.
