Silverdale celebrates Seafair in a big, big way during Whaling Days -- there's fireworks (Friday, 10 p.m.), daily entertainment on the Family Stage, a kids' area, canoe races, bike rodeo, pancake breakfast, and a parade (Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon). Here's the sched! Street fair: Friday, July 24, 5-10 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Ye olde familie funne
Fur shure. Hark back to the fur-trade era, when Fort Nisqually was built for the Hudson's Bay Company. Bring a picnic supper for Family Fun Night at Fort Nisqually, featuring games, music and dancing of the mid-1800s. Note: the Candy Cannon will be fired throughout the evening! ArtRageous!
Auburn gets all artsy this weekend with their annual ArtRageous event. Art demonstrations - from painting to woodworking - and and hands-on activities will keep your family fascinated. Plus, check out great food and face painting, and when the kids get all funned out, visit the nearby Les Gove Spray Park. Free. All ages. Les Gove Park, 11th Street and Auburn Way South, Auburn. Saturday, July 25, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Shark party

If you like your grass on the blue side, you'll love the Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival and Family Fun Fair, a one-day family music festival and fundraiser for the historic Transmitter Building. Enjoy music, children's games, merchant booths and a bonus stage with special music for children. The park also has a walking trail, duck pond and the super-cool KidsUp! Playground.
