It’s all about girls this week at the Portland Japanese Gardens, where boys and girls can celebrate Hina Matsuri (Girls’ Day) – a day to honor the health and happiness of..girls! Visit the Garden Pavilion to see a special collection of Hina dolls, elaborately costumed and accompanied by lacquered furniture. This Saturday, admission is free from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. All ages. The ultimate bad guy stands trial in The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs, a wacky courtroom drama based on the equally wacky book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. The Honorable Prudence Pig considers the case of doggy defendant Alexander T. Wolf - is he Big and Bad, or just misunderstood? $16-$24. All ages. The monthly kids' variety rock show includes musical guests The Builders and the Butchers, an interactive dance party with a DJ and giant barn owls (?!), cartoons, puppets, singalongs, parades and other off-the-hook family fun.
