For anyone over 4th grade (adults too!), participate in our FREE Sunday Workshops with the Japanese artists to learn about how Kamishibai is done.. These will be drop in workshops where you can take just one, two or all three!

What is Kamishibai (????? The word “Kami” is paper, and “Shibai” is theatre in Japanese. It is a form of traditional street theatre and storytelling that is told by a Kamishibaiya (Kamishibai narrator) who travels to street corners with sets of illustrated boards (the paper) that he or she placed in a miniature stage-like device and narrates the story by changing each image.
