Make Summer Count: How to Bring Out the Best in Kids
A ParentEd Talk by Michael Brandwein
Simply telling kids to “Be nice!” or “Show some respect!” just doesn’t work. Instead, we have to teach young people how to grow great qualities such as kindness, responsibility, respect and perseverance.
Join us for an engaging talk with Michael Brandwein, an internationally acclaimed, award-winning speaker, educator and author who will share everyday practical and positive techniques to help build outstanding character traits in children.
As part of his talk, Brandwein will also explore how to use summer camps to help children develop skills for life. Learn why camp is one of the greatest growth tools and how parents can best support their child’s summer experience.
About the speaker
Michael Brandwein has presented in every one of the 50 U.S. states and on six of the seven continents. He wrote and presented the three Emmy-award-winning “Parenting Puzzle” television programs broadcast on PBS stations nationwide. A frequent keynote speaker, Brandwein has written six best-selling books on leading and training adults to work with young people, including “Skill of the Day: What Great Leaders of Young People Do & Say” and his latest best-seller, “Growing Great Qualities in Kids: The L.A.S.E.R.B.E.A.M. Technique for Bringing Out the Best in Young People.” Brandwein has served on the national board of directors of the American Camp Association. He lives in the Chicago area with his wife Donna and they have two sons, who are both educators.
