2017 Golden Teddy Awards — Family Resources
Life-saver food service
Winner: AmazonFresh
Amazon — perhaps you’ve heard of it? The Seattle company’s fast and easy way to order groceries is changing the way families eat by cutting waiting times and simplifying errands. The service has long provided home delivery, but two AmazonFresh pickup locations (one in SoDo and one in Ballard) promise even more ease. (As of publication, one location is available to Amazon Prime members.)
Finalists
Families call UberEATS a lifesaver for those uber-busy nights. With delivery from some of Seattle’s top restaurants (including Paseo and Rancho Bravo), this game changer proves that Uber isn’t just for rides.
Food delivery app Munchery promises good food, big savings and reliable delivery. There are two options: chef-crafted meals delivered to your door and ready to heat and eat, or “cooking kits” (you get a weekly delivery with all the ingredients you need to make dinner for two in 15 minutes or less).
For those who’d rather skip grocery shopping, Blue Apron offers fresh ingredients and the recipes you need to whip them into something scrumptious. The company also promises a commitment to local farmers and sustainable practices.
Founded in 2002, this national franchise has four storefronts in Washington state (Kennewick, Mill Creek, Vancouver and Seattle), but offers a smorgasbord of online options, too. Dream Dinners’ mission? To get your family together around the dinner table by making great dinners easy to prepare.
