However you may feel about made-up marketing holidays, there's one that shines above the rest: Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven.

Held annually on July 11 (a.k.a. seven-eleven), this festive day brings out the crowds for, you guessed it, a free Slurpee.

While details are thin on this (made-up) holiday, last year's Free Slurpee Day ran from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (are you seeing a pattern?). Customers could stop in anytime during that window to claim their free Slurpee; only one per person and no, you can't bring your own cup.

As for what to order, I'm a blue raspberry purist myself but fun fact: 7-Eleven now offers a Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries flavor that is sure to make your cereal-lovers crazy. It debuts Wednesday because why not?!

So, plot your July 11 and scout out one of the 248 (!) 7-Elevens in Washington state.
