How to Throw an Awesome Birthday Bash Without Breaking the Bank
Food and drinks
5. Food
Schedule your party between lunch and dinner so that a meal is not expected by your guests. There is nothing wrong with only serving ice cream, birthday cake and drinks.
6. Cake
Professionally decorated sheet cakes or cupcakes can really eat into your party budget. Even if you aren’t a baker, you can whip up a cake or cupcakes from a boxed mix. If your birthday kid has his heart set on a Paw Patrol cake, consider getting an edible sugar sheet design to top a home-baked cake. To use, you simply peel off the backing of the sugar sheet and put on top of your own frosted cake.
If you don’t go for a sugar sheet, you can still create an impressive cake with plenty of frosting and a toy on top!
7. Drinks
Instead of buying packaged drinks or juice boxes, mix up a gallon of lemonade or Kool-Aid. Use a Sharpie to write names on cups, and make sure you have a pitcher of iced water on hand as well.
