With more sun in the forecast, it’s got us yearning to be outside. We love hiking, especially when it pays off with a great view like the ones you’ll find on these nearby waterfall hikes. Another fun way to spend time outside as a family is kicking back at a sporting event. Did you know Seattle has two professional Ultimate Frisbee teams? It’s true, and we’ve got the scoop on this growing sport and how to check out a family- (and budget) friendly game. And, of course, visit our playground of the week. Bonus: don't forget to enter to win an overnight stay at Sun Mountain Lodge before Friday, April 26.

10 things to do this weekend in Seattle and beyond:

  1. What makes a princess a real princess? Find out at a performance of “Princess and the Pea” at Juicebox Theatre (Friday–Saturday).
  2. Celebrate friendship and culture at one of the only festivals run by kids, for kids (Saturday–Sunday).
  3. The Junior Daffodil Parade, the state’s largest children’s parade, is turning 63 this year! Have fun all day with kid-focused music, art, sport and dance. (Saturday).
  4. See if you can nab a musical cake at this year’s Redmond Toddler Group Carnival (Saturday).
  5. Bring Fido and meet other furry friends at Paws in the Park in Lynnwood (Saturday).
  6. Honor Mother Earth and learn how we can all take better care of our planet at the Bellevue Botanical Garden’s inaugural EarthFest (Saturday).
  7. See Alexander Calder’s work and inspiration come to life through live performances and hands-on art activities at the Seattle Art Museum (Saturday).
  8. Learn to tie-dye, make friendship bracelets and more at Pfingst Animal Acres Park (Saturday).
  9. Cycle for a cause! Join in on a family bike ride and celebrate Earth Day (Sunday).
  10. Have a hoppin’ good time learning about our froggy friends at Point Defiance Park (Sunday).
