We are a half day preschool located in Bellevue near crossroads. We are committed to creating learners who are engaged and excited to try new things, explore nature and build confidence. We have students ages 2.5-5 years. Our teachers all have bachelor’s degrees or higher and our curriculum incorporates mixed methodologies and practices. Our classes include free play, structured learning, music, games, yoga, etymology, German, sign language, gardening, and outdoor play.

Our belief is that it is important to focus on creating a positive and safe learning environment where the children feel at home. We aim to build strong, confident, independent learners that will thrive. We believe in teaching to the child and allowing children to take pride and control in their learning. Nature and gardening are at the heart of our curriculum as well as preparing your child for the transition into kindergarten, and beyond. Garden Ridge offers a safe and stimulating environment where the curious learner can explore and develop a love of learning that carries throughout their educational years.

Our curriculum combines the best teaching methods to foster and allow discovery, self-development, and empathy while learning basic academic skills. We integrate learning philosophies, such as the Project-Based and Reggio Emilia methods, with a focus on long-term child-centered learning. Interest areas will appear that are intended to provoke curiosity, learning and investigation. We also include Montessori elements in our school as well. Our staff has taught for over 10 years using some of these components and find them invaluable to our educational space. Parents may take comfort in the fact that we have created a curriculum that meets the learning expectations of the Washington State educational requirements as well as preparing them socially.

Our students have thrived in kindergarten and often come back to visit eager to share what they are learning. Our child-centered learning helps to keep motivation up and foster investigation. We celebrate the joy of learning, and we encourage your child to question and explore.
