Seattle Country Day School

Seattle Country Day School

Rooted in inquiry. Dedicated to equity.
For gifted children, grades K–8.

At Seattle Country Day School , we know gifted children can be intense, verbal, and imaginative. They can have wildly different interests, from reading, to coding, to art. And they come from every community, every race, and every socioeconomic group.

At SCDS, your child will find a warm, welcoming classroom, one based around the concept of inquiry: a method where teachers encourage students to explore, ask questions, experiment, and create. In addition, our social-emotional learning program — which incorporates diversity, equity, and inclusion — helps students explore their identities and values while building empathy and understanding. Together, these offerings bring out the best in our students, stoke their passion for learning, and help them develop critical-thinking skills that last a lifetime.
