Making Connections that Matter

Sound Discipline

Sound Discipline offers training and coaching for parents and educators. We use Positive Discipline and trauma-informed brain science to help caregivers connect with youth and address the root causes of challenging behavior. We offer practical tools in a fun, supportive, and interactive environment that encourages parents and educators to learn from each other and build community!

We offer workshops and events which are open to the public for educators, youth program providers, parent leaders, parents and others who are interested in Positive Discipline and a trauma-informed approach to working with children and youth. Join us for one of the below workshops or contact us to bring a classroom or parenting program to your community!

Upcoming Parenting Workshops –

Parenting Teens with Positive Discipline - March 26 – May 7, 2019 Register here.

Are you and your teen(s) seeing the world differently? Would you like to
Improve communication?
Increase accountability and integrity?
Help them learn from their mistakes and provide a path to recover from mistakes?

This 6-week class provides tools for parents that teach youth valuable social and life skills. It differs from a general Positive Discipline Parenting class in its focus on adolescent brain development. We provide parents with the understanding and resources for effective parenting through the teen years.

Positive Discipline techniques are respectful and non-punitive and are based on both common sense and research. They help parents strike an important balance between being kind and firm. Join us in a relaxing, fun environment, where parents build community and participate in activities designed to deepen an understanding of their children, and bring more peace and joy into the home. This class is open to parents of middle and high school aged youth (11+).
